OMG!!

A win over this puppy is not and could never be historic.

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

Answer: not very historic at all.

Tommy Gardiner thinks it was historic.  His bucket put it into the top six!

Howard passed Novak for career threes, Scottie Reynolds & Kerry Kittles in the Big East top-10 scoring table, & George Thompson in career scoring average.

Could not have been an exhibition.

oldwarrior81

it was the first game of 2011-12, but is listed as a regular season game for both Marquette and Mt. St. Mary's (in the NEC at the time).
By my unofficial count it was Mt St Mary's 21st season in D1

I added it to the list above.

Someone should tell MU to correct their record book.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Where'd they play that Ripon game? Their place is a bee's nest.

Nope. The error was MU's score. It was 91-37.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/boxscores/2011-11-11-marquette.html

YEP ! ! !   The REPORTED score was  81-37 and he stated the 54 pt difference... I corrected the HIS stated point difference.....

TallTitan34

Putting that spreadsheet together, I've found the MU record book has errors everywhere. It's very frustrating how sloppy it is.

For example check what I have for the first 1916-17 season against what the record book has. According to the Marquette Hilltop yearbook along with the record books of the other schools, my spreadsheet is right while the MU record book is wrong.

I've tried to fix as many things as I can in the spreadsheet but unfortunately that record book is the best source of data and who knows what else is wrong with it.

If anyone knows who puts the record book together, let me know and I can give them numerous corrections.

Example: Look at the single game records for points in a game. The MU record book only lists Markus' 53 and 52 point games.

It's a list of the largest margins of victory, none of those are exactly blue bloods.

GB Warrior

I won't remember this game in, like, three weeks.

If we are beating blue bloods, or near blue bloods. by more than 50 points, we would be called the Milwaukee Bucks.
