Started Better Call Saul...so that'll be the next couple months for me.

We tried it after everyone here was bragging on it.  The first episode did nothing for us.  Should we be giving it another chance?

What is Ted Lasso on?

Apple TV+

Week trial is plenty of time to knock it out.

What is Ted Lasso on?

And are either Billions or Succession worth binging?

Succession is great.

Ted Lasso is on Apple+ and we really enjoyed it.

For some reason, I just haven't finished Succession. If someone asked me, I'd tell them that I enjoy it and would recommend it. I cannot explain why I've never bothered to finish the second season. Kind of strange.

As others have said, Ted Lasso is on Apple+. We got it for free for a year after buying new iPhones, but as much as I liked TL, I doubt we'll renew it just for that.

I love Succession. The acting is great and the characters are really depraved. I know some who are less enamored with it because they say "I hate everybody on the show," but that's one of the reasons I like it. Before S3 comes out, I plan to rewatch S1 and S2 with my wife, who hasn't seen it yet.

I tried Billions but couldn't get into it. Enough people like it to make me think I should give it another go.

We also got Apple+ for free. I'm actually amazed by how little there is on there that interests me. We watched Ted Lasso and I watched Greyhound. I'm not sure we've ever watched anything else on there. I've heard The Morning Show is good and maybe I'll watch that. I also may watch the Billie Eilish documentary. Beyond that...not sure what else there is. There's not a chance that we'll keep it on a regular basis, but I'll gladly pay $5 for a month once TL S2 comes out.

That's my plan with it, too. When they drop new seasons of Ted Lasso or The Morning Show, I'll subscribe. But other than that the content is pretty weak.

Awesome, thanks.  I had AppleTV+ for free I think when I bought my laptop.  I remember watching at least one show on it, but not much more.  Maybe something on the Atlanta Olympic bomber?  Either way I'll probably see if I can sign up for a free week long trial and knock out Ted Lasso, possibly after March Madness.

Short answer: Yes, so far.

I have completed Season 1. The later first season episodes are better in my opinion, and, it is easier to go from episode to episode. i had a difficult time getting into "Breaking Bad" and had to start the series multiple times to get it going. After completing that series, it was a little bit easier to get into the Saul show. The later Season 1 episodes of "Better call Saul" explain the background of Saul and other characters, and, are much easier and more interesting episodes to watch.

"Billions," is good, especially the first few seasons. I struggled to get into the most recent 1-2 seasons. But the first few seasons are quite good. There's a lot of financial technical jargon which may be a turnoff for some. The NYC shots are often welcomed for us.

On a friend's recommendation we watched A Million Little Things on Hulu. It's alright. Season 1 is an interesting story that has a way to make you want to keep watching. Season 2 didn't do much for me. My wife and I jokingly call it "feel good porn." The characters on the show deal with some of the heaviest topics out there, one right after the other, suicide, alcoholism, cancer, domestic violence, divorce, racism, bankruptcy...but somehow at the end of every situation everything is handled perfectly and you leave with a warm fuzzy feeling. Admittedly, it is kind of a nice change of pace from what we usually watch, but it's gotten to the point of being unbelievable how well each of these characters are handling these massive emotional body blows.

I have often been amazed to hear how many people have watched "Ted Lasso" on Apple TV+. This is because I am often amazed how many people have Apple TV+.

I used a Free Trial last year or so for "The Morning Show."

It's pretty inexpensive monthly compared to others. "Ted Lasso" is on my list to watch soon.

I have a question.

The show "This is Us"...is it difficult to follow for some people? (seniors, kids, etc..) Does it constantly do flashbacks back and forth with real time? I know it's a popular feel good show. Have tried it a few times and we cannot get into the first episode at all.

...that has a way to make you want to keep watching.

Big Little Lies was a great example of this. Once you watch the first few minutes you kind of want to keep watching S1 to see how it works out. My wife, daughters and I all placed bets on the outcome so we were committed. S2 didn't have that intrigue, so we found it more difficult to keep interest.

Same. I watched parts of Season 1 and it seemed to be interesting with some suspense and intrigue. Lately, that’s kind of gone and most often the characters annoy me.

That’s crazy. I can get people not enjoying the show, but S2 was so fantastic. Season 1 was entertaining, S2 was next level.

It’s very good. It’s a bit slick and can be very dramatic at times, but overall it’s paced well, well acted, and entertaining so it plays.

It’s created by the guys that wrote Rounders, and much like Rounders, it’s well researched and representative of realistic finance scenarios.  Majority of my friends who are in or were in that realm really enjoy it.

In terms of Apple+, the majority of people I know toggle it on and off. We do. Sign up for a month, watch a series, then go dormant until stuff is back

I watched the first two seasons with my wife and I was done with it. Thought it was crappy writing, and the acting wasn't much better.

I have enjoyed "Billions" especially the first three or so seasons. (A friend and MU alum had a small role in the series.) It's fun, it has some good characters, and it represents NYC well.

But it's valuable for anyone considering watching to know, that it is heavy with fast pace hedge fund financial jargon, and, while that's fine, it therefore, may not be for everyone.

Some people may not understand or be interested in some aspects, or they may need to watch something twice at times etc...but one doesn't need to be an expert or highly knowledgeable in those areas to enjoy the series. For some, it is not a show to watch while multi tasking

"Rounders" by comparison relies less on technical knowledge, and, has a little bit more reasonable dialogue pace.

I have been less interested in "Billions" than I was the first several seasons, but I will finish out the series.

I'd say get back into succession. S2 is hands down the superior season. The last couple eps are top of the line for tv.

Really sets up a great S3 dynamic.

I think I'll have to do that. BCS can wait a week or two. I think the problem was that I was watching Succession in December, but then started BB. I just got into BB and forgot to finish Succession.

As a guy in my 30s, a show predicated around the early death of the father was not an emotional journey I was up for.

My wife is all caught up, so I’ve watched some of the recent episodes and would agree with the statements here. Not bad, but not going out of my way for it.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was very good. Two Oscar nominees for sure, Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman.

In terms of August Wilson adaptations, “Fences” was a better play and movie, but “Ma Rainey” was solid and I think Boseman will win the Oscar.
