just a feeling-article seemed to be written by a young "homer"

I didn't find it excessively homer-ish; it simply was written for readers who care far more about K-State than about the opponent.

It was a quick article written on deadline, before he had quotes from any athletes or coaches. It wasn't great and it had several cliches, but I didn't find it to be inaccurate. In other words, it was "fine."

i didn't necessarily mean to be degrading; just an observation.  coming from the kansas city star, i wouldn't expect anything less than a slant toward kstate.  just seemed like it was written by an aspiring upstart assigned to the late saturday night scoop, getting their new pens inked, that's all

Great reference. I must have read 15+ of his books growing up.

Plus the basic point was solid.  KSU missed many easy shots in the first half.

Absolutely.  He was one of my favorites.  Had a set of 4 which I read over and over.
