I am convinced something in the food chain is diminishing memories.

This morning I read no fewer that 4 game recaps of other games involving ranked or high major programs with the following descriptors

"Ugly early season game"

"Less than beautiful aesthetic"

"Sloppy, turnover filled contest"

"If you expected to see a well oiled machine, you left disappointed"

It's November.  This happens every November.  It happens to most teams.  Yes, there are exceptions....but why do people do this every damn year?
"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

The same reason every thread devolves to the same arguments over and over again.

Actually, I have the superior perspective. That OP was a bunch of hogwash.

While you are not wrong, the irony of you criticizing others for making the same arguments is immense.

So not true. Next thing you'll say is that Wojo's cupboard wasn't bare and that his cuddles suck.

Context dude.  Objective MU fans are restless because we are coming off of a year where the above comments were applicable to our Feb/March, we closed out 1-6, pissed away a Big East title, got blasted by 19 points by a 12 seed in NCAA, saw the transfer out of one of MU's all-time greats, his talented younger brother, and have yet to win an NCAA tournament game in 5 years of Wojo.

The most enlightened of basketball minds would suggest it takes 5 years to judge.  Year 5 was an epic fail.  Do you project this MU team to exceed last year's 5 seed?  Trajectory matters.  Guards game.  How's our guard situation looking next season?  Miss on Mane and it will be a painful year 7.

Its as if the "projos" would rather be proven right in their misguided faith, than to acknowledge the factual data staring them right in the face - he's a mediocre coach - AT BEST.  Have we arrived at the point as a fanbase and institution that we are okay with getting mediocre ROI on maximum investment?

Sam was an "all-time great"?  Really, really good player but no.

Considering the OP suggested recently that Brendan Bailey will be an all-time great, felt safe to suggest Sam was too.   8-)

Sam was a great player.  Swiss army knife.  Would put him in MU's Top 20-25 of all time...which perhaps doesn't qualify as all-time great status.

No, I said an all-timer potentially, not an all time great which I clearly stated the difference.  Jerel McNeal, Novak, others are all-timers, none would be considered all time greats at MU, though they were very good.  Sam, the same.

End of the day, sometimes there is nothing you can do and people leave jobs, teams, partners, families.  To pretend this doesn't happen every day in life is odd.

I have less than a year in Calif and the area I work in has grown 23% in revenue and subs the last two years.  But you keep being you

Should we talk about what a business owner is again?  LOL

To your point, there is erratic basketball being played all over the place, including Duke and Kentucky.  And, it is a death and taxes guarantee on this board that every loss is the end of the world and wins that don't meet expectations are one step behind.  And every win is because of the players and every loss is on the coach.

Marquette is going to end up with a record similar to last year.   Wojo isn't getting fired, so nojo-ers (can be shortened to 'Ners' if you like) better hope he is successful enough to get hired away.

How are you defining similar record to last year?  What do you project?  I agree with you that Wojo isn't going to get fired after this season, as our administration seems to be pleased with his mediocre performance, and in fact has rewarded it with contract extensions.
