Noticed today that Marquette is 0-3 in November non-conference road games under Wojo. All those losses are to Big 10 teams, Ohio State in 2014, Indiana last year, UW-Madison yesterday.

Interestingly, they are 3-0 in December non-conference road games. Two wins over UW-Madison and the 2016 Georgia win.

I'm trying not to overreact since last year we were ready to bury this team after Indiana, but clearly those early road games have given us trouble, yet we've typically figured that out later in the non-con. We'll see when we get to Manhattan.

For comparison, I looked at Buzz's record also. 2-2 in November and 2-6 in December. Of his 4 non-con road wins, two were sub-100 kenpom teams, UW-Milwaukee and Cal State Fullerton (the others were wins at NC State & one at UW-Madison).

So .. same start in November .. same ending in March?

Yes.  I anticipate this season will end with a loss in the NCAA tourney.

FWIW, Buzz's two November wins were Cal State Fullerton and Milwaukee. So 0-2 in high major November road games.

Crean was 1-2 in high major November road games, beating St John's in 2003 (though that was a terrible Johnnies team that ended up with zero top-100 wins) and losing at Minnesota and Nebraska.

Maybe the reality is just that winning on the road in November is hard.

Buzz and Crean had eventual NBA players on their rosters, this team does not.

Wrong thread?

Yet, their records were the same as Wojo in November.  Perhaps it takes some time to develop a team every year.  Don't give up on Howard making the NBA either.  There is still that possibility.

Howard might get an MBA and I hope he does.

Funny.  Fixed it. You are fast.

Phew. We lost. On the road to a Big14 team.

Remember how solid last year was for our team!? (Although the ending was a bummer...)

Good thing this didn't happen to last years team WITH the hausers. Boy would we have been upset then.

Tough loss.  Crappy game.

Won't hurt in the least come March.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I agree with this. IU was brutal last year, but we still managed to get a 5 seed. We can move on from this. Lets take care of business in Orlando.
