Impact of Moving Out the Three Point Line
« on: November 18, 2019, 12:11:40 AM »
It’s early and teams are still adjusting, but let’s track shooting percentages:

Last Year National Average 3FG%:  34.4%
This Year to Date: 32.5%
Difference: -1.9% (sounds about right where the pundits predicted)

Marquette Last Season: 38.8%
Marquette This Year to Date:  44.8%
Difference: +6.0% (that would be the Hauser impact)

MU’s 2FG% has dropped from 50% to 41.5%. MU eFG% has dropped from 53.5% to 52.2% as a result. We could use Jayce and some quality paint touches. It’s early yet people. Koby, Markus and Greg are shooting it well from beyond the arc. MU just needs the others to catch up to the game. Let’s see if they can. Opposing teams are going to let me, for sure.

Markus and Koby are shooting 7-22 at the rim right now. Ed and Theo are 10-12. Definitely need more paint touches.
