I think this ultimately could be good news for the Pirates. Some other guys on this team will have to learn how to carry the load. Sandro and Mamu, in particular, have been mediocre so far. They need to step up and provide additional options if SHU is going to have any hope of being more than a bubble team this year.

Actually, this wasn't an injury. It was the refs finally ejecting him from our 2019 BET game.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Without Powell, they’ll get boatraced.  Probably

Always glad to see that our fan base is happy when a 22 year old basketball player is injured.

Sounds to me like not many are happy to see it but also aren’t shedding any tears for the guy. He’s a 22 year old punk who should’ve been ejected twice in our last game with them. If he sprains his ankle? Oh well.

Yeah nobody’s really happy. So you’re as wrong here as you are about Memphis.

Never celebrate an opponents injury.  I hope he heals.   I doubt that if the situation were reversed that Seton Hall scoop would be generating a lot of sympathy.    Did they send get well cards when JAYCE got hurt?

I'm neither happy nor sad about it. I do think it could be good for them in the long run, though.

Very disappointing news to hear. Sounds like he will be out a month.

Guy is a dirty player, so he doesn’t deserve any sympathy from opponents’ Internet message boards. I am disappointed that his injury will likely have a negative impact on the Big East non-con rating.

He doesn't deserve sympathy because of how he plays basketball?  Get a grip.

Tough break that sucks. For a school/team that doesn’t often near the top 10 in the rankings and national relevancy you've gotta feel bad for their fanbase.

That feeling when Dominique James went down was brutal.

Hope he heals quick as I’m really looking forward to those two heavyweight matchups between Markus and Myles, don’t want them to lose their luster

I won't wish injury on a player. Wish it had happened to Willard instead.

The guy rolled his ankle in the second game of the season. This is about as ho-hum as it gets.

If he'd popped his knee out of the socket then maybe some of the sanctimonious posting would be warranted. He'll be back playing by December.

Agreed. Unfortunately it happens but the timing and the injury aren’t very serious. If you have to take an injury this is about as good as you can ask for.

The have said it’s a serious injury.  Kind of wonder if it’s the dreaded high ankle sprain.

Willard’s comments made it seem like it’s a regular sprained ankle (2-4ish weeks out) but Powell is going to make money somewhere next year so he’s going to hold him out longer than he might even need.

Yes.  But there is still no reason to wish him ill.

Shoulda just went to through with the draft like he originally intended...
