In a CBS Sports poll of coaches about the best player in college basketball, Markus Howard finished second (receiving 13% of votes). Cassius Winston of Michigan State is the overwhelming favorite (50%). A few verbatims:

"When Markus Howard gets going, he's tough. Can win games by himself."

"He's one of the best scorers in college basketball in the last ten years. Teams game plan for him and he still gets 25-plus consistently."

"He's the college version of Steph Curry."

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

If  Markus and Cassius switched teams, MU would be worse and MSU would be better. Cassius is on a team with a lot of other threats. Markus is not.

Winston is really good.......makes others better.

Wojo and this staff have an excellent eye for talent........he has identified lots of good players early....closed on some missed on others ......but he's fishing in the right pools most of the time.
