Duke's own investigation did not uncover evidence of Zion being paid.

Is there anyone with an above room temperature IQ that takes them seriously?

That had to be one of the most ridiculously idiotic wastes of time and money I have ever heard of. I don't know if Zion was paid but Duke's own "investigation" has zero integrity and does not benefit the university or Coach K.

I suppose Duke just wanted to give every non-Duke alum an good chuckle.

What did Avenatti say?
He has challenged Duke to sue him. He welcomes the opportunity to get everyone under oath.

I guess we'll see how confident Duke is in their own "investigation".

Duke should have let this sleeping dog lie. Rumors of Duke cheating have not significantly hurt their brand in the past so I don't know why they chose this hill to die on.

I assume Duke has a law firm or third party do this, would be really dumb to it internally.

Duke didn't pay him, but did Nike? Or an agent?  Plausible deniability

Why's that?  We live in a zero consequences world.

What did Avenatti say?

Quote"I never heard from anyone associated with Duke in connection with my allegations or any investigation," said Avenatti. "I was never asked a single question. I was never asked what information or documents that I was aware of. Who the hell conducted this investigation? Inspector Clouseau?

For clarity, I assume Duke has a law firm do their investigation and it wasn't Duke doing the investigation.

And no, it isn't a zero consequences world....yet.  Ask Louisville, USC, etc.  That said, when you open up the jails and let criminals out, give 10's of second chances, don't enforce laws, etc, etc, yes there are many in this country that want to create that situation.  Not good.

The blue blood schools seem to be immune.  I'll leave it at that.  Business as usual for the money makers.

At least the NCAA will be laying the hammer down on 3 major programs by the end of June...

You must not be very intelligent...is that the going line from you this morning?

Are you suggesting USC in football and Louisville in basketball are not blue bloods?

Breaking News....admit when you are wrong.

Louisville is absolutely not a basketball blue blood.

You going to die on that mountain, too?  Don't forget your sharpie.

They did have a law firm do it. That does not change the stupidity of it and the lack of integrity of the findings.

I can hire a law firm tomorrow to prove we never landed on the moon or that the world is flat.

Again, I don't know if Zion was paid, but Duke's "investigation" proves nothing, legally and in the court of public opinion. Hence, a waste of time and money.

I see you ignored USC....conveniently

As for Louisville, you may be right...definitely an opinion based belief.  Some put them there and some don't.  But USC...please.  Just own it.

I didn't realize we were talking football here.  If that's what you want, I'll admit I missed it.

See.  That's how its done, you man child.

Not sure it is correct to say Duke's own investigation was my point.  Your other points well taken.  I also assume it was a reputable firm, but who knows.  Whether the firm was exhaustive or not, will not matter to your point.  Those that believe they are cheating will say this means nothing...totally get it.  Having Avenatti on that side of argument, however, also isn't helpful.

I suppose I should have said "the investigation Duke paid for".

Also, not just those who believe Duke is cheating will say it means nothing; people who have no opinion on Duke, like myself, will see the lack of integrity of this self-serving PR stunt. Non-Duke supporters are justifiably having a good laugh at this "investigation".

What possible benefit could Duke have hoped to gain from this? Seems to be a loose-loose proposition.

Sorry, had the details wrong. 2 major programs by early July and at least 6 major programs by the end of the summer. Source is Stan Wilcox, the NCAA vice president for regulatory affairs. I'm anxiously awaiting early July!

So great news guys, DePaul is a major program! 😂😂😂 (Were they and NC State notified of Level 1 violations?)

When is the end of summer? Do we go by college school calendars, and thus it's over? Or is it September 23? Can't wait to hear the other 4 major programs and what their punishments will be! Which major programs out of Rutgers, Washington State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Penn State, and Oregon State are waiting to hear they'll be losing a scholarship each of the next 2 seasons? Hell of a job NCAA!

Meanwhile Will Wade, Sean Miller, Bill Self, and Bruce Pearl are getting ready for the 2019-2020 season

What did Avenatti say?
That Trump paid a porn star hush money after cheating on his then-pregnant wife.
