It is a mandatory good faith gesture if we have any chance at all at  Patrick Baldwin Jr

It's possible. I also wonder if it could be an attempt to entice Kendall Brown, a 2021 5-star we just offered. His older bro will be a freshman at Milwaukee this year.

One thing worth noting, the last game before Big East play will be Central Arkansas. Typically, that slot is one of the weakest buy games. The Bears are projected as #292 per T-Rank. Milwaukee is #204 & NDSU is #140. Looks like the NC State lesson was heard loud & clear. Seems likely we'll have pretty good buy games across the board if those are any indicators.

I feel like we should've learned our lesson in 2016 and 2018 not have to learn it from some other school.

North Dakota State is the best buy game by far. Gambling State is better than they used to be. Jacksonville and Robert Morris were okay last season iirc. Loyola MD is perpetually bad.

Purdue, at Wisconsin,  Orlando, at K State is a solid slate. The buy games? Not nearly as bad as We Wojo year 2 but nothing to write home about either.

That would be Loyola Marymount. We're playing Loyola Maryland.

Though I just checked and Trank has them at 163 so maybe better than I thought

Damnit.  Should know better than to trust twitter.  That seemed high for them.

Has there been any word on a campus site game for the Orlando Invitational?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Checking T-rank predictions ain't a bad idea though:

#8 Purdue
#9 Maryland
#19 Harvard

#21 Wisconsin
#27 Marquette
#42 Kansas State
#58 Texas A&M
#59 Davidson
#74 USC
#87 Temple

#141 North Dakota State
#163 Loyola MD
#189 Grambling State
#237 Fairfield
#238 Robert Morris
#293 Central Arkansas
#315 Jacksonville

I don't buy into T-Rank as much as others, but they have proven me wrong more than once (and vice versa). If these numbers turn out being in the right ballpark, that's not a bad non-conference slate. Get hit the right matchups (and win at least 2/3) in Orlando. I understand Harvard will be a very good low major next season (assuming everyone is healthy) but top 20 seems excessive to me.

I did hear from a Panther player in late April, that Milwaukee will be at Marquette. We will find out tomorrow.

Phil (mu03eng & Scrambled Eggs host) on Twitter said this may still be in the works but isn't finalized yet.

If they are indeed still working on the UW-Milwaukee game, one of these would have to be an Orlando campus game. Probably either Loyola-MD or RMU, just based on the dates. The only other full schedule from an Orlando team that's out is USC, which doesn't have either of those opponents on it. Keep an eye on Maryland, TAMU, Davidson, Harvard, Temple, & Fairfield (along with LUM & RMU) to figure out which is the Orlando campus game.

Makes sense. I'm just hoping we aren't giving up the 31st game (as was done in 3 out of the last 5 years). The home schedule is a bit light right now at 16 games (excl. exhibition), the fewest since Buzz's last season.

Why are we back to playing 12 non con games? So stupid.

Decent chance there's a game yet to be announced (either the rumored UWM game or a Orlando Invitational campus game)

Hopefully that is the case, because playing 12 games is very stupid.

I mean what difference does it make?? It would likely just be another dog they would pound on anyway. As a season ticket holder, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm honestly more upset I have to pay for stupid exhibition game every year.

At least now a days it's only one exhibition game vs a real team.

The 13th game could be one that drags down the NET. However, I do agree we should be playing the full allotment of games. You can get around the NET by scheduling a Fresno State or Buffalo type. That may be easier said than done.

First reaction:  The OOC schedule is solid.  Second reaction:  The home OOC schedule is as bad as I can recall.

Third reaction:  When does UConn start in the BE?

This feels right. I think aiming for teams in the 100-200 range as buy games is solid. If a couple pan out those are Q3 opportunities.

But yeah, other than Purdue, what is there? Loyola-MD & NDSU aren't exactly selling points. Maybe that's why they are trying for Milwaukee, the local attraction angle?

I mean, i have said this before and it always kind of confuses me when people complain about the home non conf schedule. All i care about is seeing MU win. That's it, that's the most important thing to me when attending a game. I look at it like this, the lessor the opponent, the easier it is on my health and nerves. So that's a win-win for me.  ;D

I will see three times the competitive games in a long weekend in Orlando than OOC at home. Last time MU lost to St. Norbert's, Murff was playing. I worry about your 1st row upper purchase at the lid lifter.

I appreciate your concern. The easiest and simplest way to alleviate any potential issues?? DON'T LOSE AT HOME. Problem solved.  ;D
