weren't 221 and 223 cheaper then 222 last year?

No.  They were the same.  Also, no price increases for the upper bowl.

Why is this Superbar?

I have been a MUBB season ticket holder for 30+ years. We all knew that the first season at the new arena would mean a significant increase in price. After receiving a preliminary notice in my email today, I clicked on the new price schedule:

https://gomarquette.com/documents/2019/4/9/MUBB_201920_Season_Ticket_Map.pdf?camefrom=EMCL_2839381_134763050

My tickets in Section 104 will go up $105 a piece for the season, about a 10% increase. Last year I thought it was the start of a significant phased increase over a few years to avoid ticket shock, and it appears that is the case.

Any thoughts?

They added an aisle premium for the upper deck sections.

MU needs to pay Wojo's $5 million a year extension somehow.  ;)

With this plan, you do have choices within your section (move back or up)...or move to a pack. Some people I know buy in the uppers for season tickets to keep their points and buy packs, for instance. There is a number of combinations to get value but you need to get creative.

Team is expected to be very good next year, top 10 attendance, many sellouts, they would be fools not to capitalize on this.  Gives me comfort knowing there are some sane people doing this.  Strike while the iron is hot.

The secondary market was crazy this year.  My seats were going for $600+ apiece.  I actually think MU could have goosed it more.

That said if Markus goes, so goes the promise of a Top 10 (or 25) for most fans.  The team will still be good but with no Wisky in the packs and with the flat tire to end it, this will be interesting. MU AD likely got the balance right with the pricing.

The K-State, UW-Madison, Buffalo trio made for an incredible non-con slate last year. I imagine they'll push for a home Gavitt Game, but think they need another 1-2 marquee games to justify the hike.

They made the dead center court a higher price than the section next to it. Smart move. Also, other than aisle seats, the rest of Fiserv Forum held on the prices. No price increase.

I scanned the donations quickly and those have remained constant too as best I can tell.

Huh? My seats aren't dead center or on an aisle but they went up. The three tiered pricing scale insures most sections had price increases somewhere in them.

I sat in section 213 last year seat 1-2. Paid $125 a ticket. Each ticket is now. $290. I'd call that a price increase.

Sometimes I think Cheeks is a rogue member of the BOT that will inevitably get found out one day a la Bryan Colangelo.  Could this guy be any more pro-administration?

I wasn't talking about your section. My statement was not pointed at anyone person. Just the map in general. Like section 117 & 106 is not the same price as 116, 118 or 107, 105 as it was in 2018-19.

That section was $275 last year. No price increase if you find last year's map. I have the print out in front of me.

I'm willing to bet you are in the final 5 or so top rows at the top of that section in 213? You bought them in August also?

Those $125 seats are much limited than in the Bradley Center. So, the Marquette Ticket Office added the final top rows in section 213 and 217 at the  $125 cost, yet it wasn't shown on the map last year. It was a last minute thing MU did. I don't know if that was just for last year. I will message my guy tomorrow at work and ask him what their plan is for that this coming season.

Thanks, with 3 kids under the age of 5 that price point is perfect for not feeling guilty about not being able to get to every game.

One would imagine, after the MU/Bucks leasing agreement was done .. MU analyzed the ticket price structure not just for one year .. but many .. and figured out the best way to boil the frog without him jumping out of the pot:  Jack prices 30-40% in year 1, then 10-15% a year for X more years until the revenue matches the rent increase.

Heck, maybe the lease reflects that ramp up.

You still think the Bucks ownership is not committed to win a title and is only milking a cash cow?

It's also the best seats.  I sit in the corners of the lower and upper, on the aisles and have seen relatively very little increase.  They know what they're doing.  It's a supply and demand thing.
