Sweet 16

If we played teams left..

Lose to
Mich
Mich state
Purdue
North Carolina
Duke
Florida State
Virginia
Virginia tech
Gonzaga
Oregon
Kentucky
Tennessee
Texas tech
Houston

Close game
LSU
Auburn
Ohio State

Beat
The anteaters

Auburn would smoke us, LSU would beat us.

Ohio St and UCI probably won't make the S16, but I'd guess close loss to the Buckeyes and close win vs the Anteaters.

Being a 4 is as good as being a 6, avoid 5 at all costs.

5s in the S16 = 1.

6s in the S16 = 0.

Weird.

The very end of the Duke-UCF game reminded me a little of the end of regulation of our game against Louisville.

Ville had a couple of shots from right at the rim that, fortunately for us, didn't go in.

Then we won it in OT, with Markus making the winning hoop with less than a minute to go.

Other than Duke, Virginia, and Gonzaga, I think we could beat any one of those teams. And even those three we could beat if we are playing at our best and they were having off nights. No I am not saying we are better than all those teams, but you all act like teams are robots that play to the same level every single game.

Could argue a charge on Zion but the 2 or 3 prior calls all went against Duke. Didn't think UCF got hosed at all

No foul on Barrett’ rebound either?  They call Zion for one of the charges and he fouls out, not the big guy. The only thing the refs didn’t do was put the ball in the hole for ‘em

If anyone is watching the Gonzaga-FSU game, I'd appreciate if someone could explain how the foul called on the Gonzaga player on a fast break before the last timeout wasn't an offensive foul on FSU.  He ran across the court to sideswipe the defender who was running in a straight line.

So, the foul against FSU right before half... How many times have we seen Markus in a similar driving situation and get no call? Refs befuddle me

5s in the S16 = 1.

6s in the S16 = 0.

Weird.

5’s 1-3 opening round

6’s 3-1 opening round

Weird

I would have rather been a 6 than a 5.  I’m glad you think one team getting through is better than three teams advancing at least one game.

Playing in the second weekend is infinitely different/better. than winning one game. There's the Final Four, the Elite 8 and the Sweet 16...and the round of 32. Meh.

Interesting logic.

25% of the 5’s won a NCAA game

75% of the 6’s won a NCAA game

Who had more success in this tournament, the 5’s or the 6’s as a seed line?   The 6’s, and isn’t close.  Call it luck of the crapshoot tournament, call it bad luck, doesn’t matter to me....three teams with a.500 record or better vs 1 team is a no brained.

No, there was at least a few minutes left in the half.  The FSU player was on a break around the 3pt line and basically ran more to the right than to the basket and slammed into the Gonzaga player

That Purdue/Tennessee game was outstanding! Had to be one of the best games all season.
