It was actually fun to play Friday night for a change.  Despite the fact that we've had good teams going back to Buzz we always seem to get eliminated early in BE tournament.  It sure would be nice to be playing tonight.  Oh well, wait till next year.  >:(

I just looked it up.  Against teams who were .500 or better in Big East play, we are 3-14 in the Big East Tournament.  When we are the higher/better seed playing teams who were .500 or better, we are 0-7.

Against teams with losing conference records, we are 9-0, so there's that.  Basically, since joining the Big East, we lose to the first good team we play.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Why bother with trying to make the final?  Besides the Big East knows Marquette in the final hurts ticket sales, so it won't happen.

A better idea would be to play the first round of the BET as an exhibition game.  Give the starters some run, then play the reserves for 30 minutes, and rest-up for the real tourney.

Treat the BET as the joke it is.

Spoken like a fan of a team that lost. I did not like the outcome either, but that's the way it goes. Markus was 1-15. Probably his worst shooting game ever. He shoots 10% from the field and we win. It was just not meant to be.

BTW, how well did MU do in the other conference tournaments back in the day? In our history as a conference member championships are few and far between. Not sure why, but that's the reality. I am not going to trash the BE tourney.

The BET is not a quality product.  Why pretend?

Thank you, I would like more analysis.
