Games like this are where rivalries are born. The players and fan bases will be amped up and circle this game on the calendar every year because of last night's ridiculous nature. Could this be the start of our first true BE rivalry? I can't say, personally, that we currently have an actual rival.

fjm

I was at the game.

I don't condone violence but the amount of young SHU guys going after my 50+ year old dad for cheering when Markus made his 3pointer and FT's was pretty amazing.

Their fans might just be the worst.

Book it... they are my new least fav team in the BEast. I wish we got to play them again today.

MUMountin

Had the same thought last night.  We've had a few chippy games against them the last few years, but last night felt like one of those old CUSA games against Cincinnati or Louisville.  Feels like the start of something, especially with both teams likely returning most players and competing for the top next year.

RushmoreAcademy

There's a lot of BEast bashing, but as far as the schools go, I'm liking what the conference is becoming.  With playing each other as often as you do with 10 teams, heated rivalries like this one are building. I can't wait to play SHU again.

tower912

Yup.   We now have a team to genuinely hate.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Yes, rivalries are nice, but the concern should be about pissing away a conference championship, when all the stars were aligned.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

GB Warrior

The program Willard runs was already easy to hate, but they were "ours". Probably a turning point that proves they're the underbelly of the Big East

ChitownSpaceForRent

Sure made me want to buy tickets to next years game.

This means if I elbow a Seton Hall fan in the chest so should only get a warning and not get kicked out of the Forum, right?

GB Warrior

If you elbow him and them verbally acost him later you are in the clear.

TJ

On the other hand... as much as we hated Louisville or Notre Dame we also respected them. SHU may be lacking some in that department from a rivalry standpoint.

I'm not gonna lie; based on how MU fans have described Sewer Hall fans I'm really glad I wasn't there. I most definitely would've been hit with an F2

But if he laughs at you for elbowing him, he can get thrown out of the arena.

Was just going to post the same thing. Trash team from a nothing program. Hardly the makings of a rivalry. Rivalries require two equal opponents

Seton hall was led by Bobby Gonzalez at one point. They were the team that undercut Dom James and a few other dirty plays in that era. I'd say they are the dirtiest team in the Big East.

Markusquette

Assuming Powell goes to the draft, the rivalry won't be quite the same.

The fact that they just locked down three 20-win seasons in a row for the first time in program history should tell you something. We lead the series 19-11. 12 ncaas to our 32.

Well sure but this is a different thread from that idea.  We can speak on different topics at the same time.

Seton Hall has nothing to do with the rivalry, the rival is Madison Square Garden and selling tickets, hay, business is business.

The Big East Tournament is a sell out all four days. What's your point?
