Nah.   Hell of a player.    Raised his team up.    Should have been ejected.   Took advantage of the opportunity.
Tower—I know you hate to see the bad in any player ever.....you're wrong. Total bitch.

You are a baby.  He's tough.  MU weak.  Next.  I was there.  Saw it with my own eyes.

We had our two best defenders ejected from the game, one of whom also had shut down Powell and had 10 points of his own.  Did you see that with your own eyes? Did you see the purposeful swinging elbow that the refs decided allowed him to stay in the game?  With your own eyes?

Amen. People pay too much attention to the chirping. It's nothing.

Chirping is whatever, I'd be lying if I didn't talk some crap during games. But I've never launched an elbow into someone's sternum.

Calling Powell classless is an insult to classlessness. He absolutely should not play tomorrow. Should be reassessed to a flagrant 2 & suspended for multiple games starting tomorrow & continuing to January.

I said immediately he should've been ejected. It's no different than a punch except where it landed. It was done with malicious intent and he absolutely should've been ejected
So a guy elbowing a chest is no more dangerous than throwing a punch to the fast. If it was a high elbow that missed I would agree with you but an elbow to the chest is a 5 on a 1-10 scale of inflicting harm to a player.

Classic and typical SH program of thugs and future members of the NBA or penitentiary.

Willard post game, "Thought the refs did a great job after the scrum."

Yeah, your team started it and the 2 best defensive MU players ejected. Of course you thought it was a great job.

Powell picking a fight at the end of the game handshakes with Wojo completely shameful.

This SH team and program annoys me.

Please edit out the youtube link. Not necessary and really inappropriate. Not a good look for you or this board.

My favorite Myles Powell moment tonight was when he returned after thinking he had been ejected. You could tell he had been crying.

GB Warrior

Having a tough guy, an instigator, an enforcer, whatever, is great. I'd be ashamed to have Powell on my team.

It was premeditated and he only hit the chest because he thought he wouldnt get caught if he hit him there. It wasnt a basketball move. It was an intent to harm. That crap has no place in the game.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

There was zero chance that he wasn't going to play tonight.......after a T.....after throwing and elbow.....after being escorted to the locker room..after crying that he let his team down......wait wait wtf are you crying for? Get out there and win this thing!

Actually.. you could have caused cardiac injury with elbow to the sternum. Could be WAY worse than punch to the face

Have you seen how basketball players punch? Most aren't causing any harm! Seriously though it's as much about evaluating the intent. That was ejection worthy

Wojo didn't see Powell try to come up and shake his hand. Powell took offense to that and came at Wojo.

Wojo had already went through the entire SH line, and had turned to go towards mid court/his side when Powell tried to come up from behind to shake his hand. Wojo never even saw him until Powell tried to then come at him and confront him.

Really trashy by Powell. Powell then ran off the court to the locker room and didn't shake any of the MU players hands.
Thank you for explaining that ... I just saw it now ... McKnight was saying some trashy stuff towards Wojo, too, it looked like.  The less-classy team won tonight.  That's all I can say.

AlumKCof93

Powell's a prima Donna who was complaining to the refs in the first half about how he was being guarded and then threw the elbow.  He then needed to be tossed after he confronted Theo.

A great player but that was not being tough.  He should have been out.

Even if you give him all that, utter bs he played on Wojo after the game.  He's an embarrassment

SH fans online are saying the refs tried to hand the game to Marquette, Wojo is soft and classless, Powell is a warrior, and MU is a bunch of "wannabe tough guys"

Go play more trash Pirates of the Caribbean videos at your bland crap arena.  They've made me completely forget about minor annoyances with SJU

I just dont understand any argument of Powell not being thrown out for his elbow to sacars chest and John [getting] a flagrant two for that push....

As I've thought about this, I think it is largely a matter of time in the game.  If they ejected Powell—one of the top 3 players in the Big East— that early in the game, before the game was super-chippy, MU likely rolls and the SHU fans scream bloody murder (which I guess many MU fans are doing now).  On the flip side, because John's came late in the game as things were escalating out of control, I think they felt they had to take control, and that since they were also tossing Mamu it sort of balanced out.  But by letting Powell get away with that, it set a tone and allowed everything to get out of hand, and we got caught on the wrong side of it.

It was allowing the lowest common denominator to exist. Refs let it go to hell as a result. Dumb and dangerous

I'll agree that some of the t's on Seton Hall were silly but tossing Theo and Sacar with 12 minutes left, after all the garbage before that call?  Give me a break.  Seton hall ugliest the game up and the refs allowed it to happen and then lit it on fire

How about our POY clenching and missing FT's when it mattered.  But FT's no matta!

This is Wojo's signature.  Team is scared and they played scared.  Powell asserted himself.  I was there.  STFU with your postulating.  Saw it in person.  Wojo's warriors wilted.  Howard, Joe, Sacar in that order.

Are you 12?

Anyone with any common sense knows what a shyteshow that was and I almost wanted us to lose so as to avoid OT and risk serious injury. Have you ever heard of a guy named Bob Knight? Go look up how he felt about Conference tournaments. Call him a dinosaur if you like, but know that he was right. They are TV money-grabs and meaningless re NCAA seeding. Would I like if Marquette won one? Of course. We F'd up by not winning the regular season BE, I concede that to you. The games that really matter are now upon us. Enjoy your La-Z Boy and rooting for more assertive teams.

Seton Hall fans want Theo suspended for the NCAAs for his "thug" play.

https://setonhall.forums.rivals.com/threads/theo-john-is-a-thug.39378/

I can honestly say that what I've seen over the last 2 weeks, I can't find a worse, more pathetic fan base than SHU. They were calling Powell honorable and classy for the handshake stuff. That program is cancerous and classless from the coach on down. The same SHU who has won ONE tourney game in a decade is making fun of MU for being soft, chokers, and a joke of a program. I hope they get blown out every game

Pretty ironic that they'd want to set the bar so low, given that their "star" throws elbows and starts fights.
