So Villanova has lost 3 straight, and we are in the drivers seat right now. They will definitely be pissed off when they play us on Wednesday, and will likely shoot real well from 3 on their home floor. We absolutely need to bring our A game on Wednesday and kick their ass. Villanova lost a ton of people off last years team and we should beat them. We have more talent, except in the coaching category. It is time to make a statement and whoop their ass. It is time to take control of the BEast. It is time we show that we deserve the national respect. It is coming down to crunch time and we need to take care of business. Beat their ass and do well in the Beast tourney, and we deserve a 2 line. If we do that, there are only 3 teams in the country that we could have a problem with; Duke, Kentucky, and Gonzaga. Ummm...maybe 4 since we cannot seem to beat St. Johns.

I agree, the mods need to hand out Xanax with the bans.  Many of the posters need to focus the energy going into the animosity into something good.

60% open to the idea of sitting outright or potentially depending on severity of injury and time needed to heal for longer term.

Why is it surprising? If we were a game back & this could bring us into a tie with tiebreaker, I'd still say base it on the severity of the injury. Don't get me wrong, I want the Big East title, but it's more important to have Howard healthy in the weeks to come than to risk him now if there was a serious concern. (I don't believe there is, but if there was, no one regular season game would be worth the risk.)

I look at it this way. Medical staff determines whether or not Markus is able to play. If able to play coaching staff makes ordinary course determination of playing time.

My feeling is if Markus can play, he should get enough reps to stay in good form, but would prefer to see his minutes on the lower end.

I voted depends on how hurt he is because that is obviously the right choice. Doesn't mean this thread isn't a joke cuz it is. It's just senseless. He played during a blowout. This would not happen if he had even the slightest concerning injury. He's fine. There is no reason to think he has a legit injury. It's just ridiculous.

Depends upon the severity of the injury (which we don't know) and the chances that playing with it may aggravate the injury (which we don't know). Why don't we defer to the people who do know? I know having strong opinions without any knowledge of the facts is popular here but I'll sit this one out.

I didn't expect anything.  I took the thread as a joke and voted to sit him, because the question is hysterical.  The guy was playing until 0:00.00 were left on the clock in a game we won by 18.  If it were a serious injury or an injury that could get worse by playing him, he would've been out as much as he possibly could have.  Given that he wasn't, he's just fine.

If, Heaven forbid, between now and Wednesday he tears his ACL?  Yeah, I say sit him.  But sit him against Nova because he might be dinged up?  Every high level athlete talks about how the only day you're 100% healthy is the very first day of practice.  I don't think Markus is 100% healthy.  I don't think anyone on the team is.  Markus will and should play Wednesday.

I was surprised the go for jugular wasn't much higher.  I figured, obviously in error, that people would throw caution to the wind and say go for it.

Has Markus made (even attempted) his patented step back jumper since being hurt in the Providence game?  I can't remember any, but I missed 1.5 of the games.

In that PC game after he got hurt, he became very north south, lost explosiveness.  He hasn't been the same since in terms of explosiveness.

Yes. He hit one from the corner at Nova. He hit one vs. Creighton I believe. Don't remember any from SHU or GT. He did try one against Gtown in the last 2-3 minutes and lost control of the ball right to the defender.

It wasn't a hip, it was the groin.  MU would be dumb to say publicly the player is hurt and limited.  I suspect that all comes out after the season is over.

He has not had the same explosiveness even in that PC game after being hurt.  Not as much lift. Yes, he kept playing and many posters not named me in that game also commented on how he wasn't the same. Ignore that if you wish. 

There's also playing poorly because you are injured.
