I lived in ODonnell.

had some great times and have great stories that me and my friends still talk about. they have a cafeteria, but it is only open during the week. so for food on weekends we had to go to mashuda or McCormick. dont base your decision on cafeteria because no matter where you go, you will be going to eat with your friends and you will be talking about the following: week day- homework/class, hot chicks, tv; weekend- piecing together what the F**k happened the night before, hot chicks, alcohol, parties, how much you hate sunday's.
OD is like a fraternity house- without the gay that all MU fraternities have. You will know all the guys in the dorm (whether you like it or not) and you will always have a drinking buddy somewhere in the dorm (this you can still have in McC).
only real con is that there are no chicks allowed after 2. but hey who really wants the chick to sleep over after you have "taken care of business"??
RA's are hit or miss. do not let this factor into your decision.

you cant go wrong with either OD or McC. I would not think about going anywhere else.

Plus side when i was a freshmen... going into sophmore year and having to choose where you want to live, OD and the 'Been-ery had first dibs on Schroeder rooms (a place that you ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY HAVE TO LIVE). This was because of overcrowding and increasing enrollment. Just dont get in trouble freshmen year or you can throw any priority on sophmore year leaving out the window-  you will be last.

disclaimer--- abbottsford was not a dorm my freshmen year. i hear they are nice, but i think the only PRO on it is the rooms are like apartments.

Uh. The dorm selection process is completely random, per ResLife.

I don't know if it is now, but a few years ago it was only random for freshman.  Sophomores had a lottery system and everyone signed up online.  You would get this card with a time on it and log in to some strange program on the Marquette Telnet site, where you could view but not choose a room.  Once your specific time came, you were allowed to pick your room, and not just a dorm, but you could pick a specific room on a specific floor.  If you were one of the people that got stuck with a late sign up time, you were basically screwed and had no chance to get into the building you wanted.

it was through this lottery system that you were given your time. This "lottery" system was heavily influenced by how many times you have been written up and, for my class, where you lived your freshmen year had a part in your lottery time.

Right. My random I meant the sign-up times. After that it's up to you/roommates to choose your room. ResLife does indeed drop you to do end for certain offenses. Douches.

When did COMPLETELY come to mean sign up times? Your statement would be read by everyone as though completely meant encompasses the entire selection process. I COMPLETELY believe that you are a Douch.

Why hasn't anyone commented on Schroeder?  I lived there in 89 and 90 and it was great. Its in the heart of campus and its coed.  Bigger and better rooms than McCormick.  Where's the love?

Is Schroeder now only a Sophomore dorm?  It was primarily a sophomore dorm when I was there, but I got in as a freshman and there there were quite a few freshman on my floor both my freshman year and my sophomore year.

It has been for awhile, probably at least a decade.  Back when freshman were allowed to stay at Schroeder, sophomores could stay at McCormick.  Now, Schroeder is sophomores only and McCormick is Freshman Only.

What are you talking about? Sign-up times are completely random, in which you the select your room in whatever.

The douche comment was towards ResLife and the joke it is.

Right, I got that. I was just trying to figure out when and why "gay" became an acceptable put-down ...

Exactly, shouldn't you be contributing to the consistent decline of the Tribune? Takes a lot of time, surprised you're on here.

Campus Town West !!

if we are talking about off campus living, you could pay a whole lot more and live in 2040s...which is ridiculously overpriced and an excellent reason why i'm not living there next year
