I will say 7-3.  Stick with my 14-4 prediction.

Are you sure about that? Because the way things are going in New York, I think it's a very realistic possibilty that in a month we'll be saying WTF about having lost by 20 to St John's.

The final score may have been a WTF, but even with their recent dip I don't feel losing at St. John's is unreasonable. I'm talking 2009 loss at South Florida, 2011 loss at Seton Hall, 2017 loss at Georgetown, or any loss to DePaul level of WTF

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere but there is a very good chance that Marquette will break the record for wins in a season. They have 10 regular season games left, possibility of 3 in the BET and minimum of 1 in the NCAA Tournament.

The record for most wins in a season is 27 back in 2002-03 and 2011-12. Obviously a lot of ball to play but they have a serious shot at breaking 30 wins this year.

As others have said:

I went 6-4. Preseason I picked ya for 12-6. I think we now end up 13-5. Unfortunately 2nd in the BEAST. Which is still a great fuggin year.

Having said that, I think we lose to Nova twice, SJU again at home and then I still think we lose a weird one in there somewhere (hopefully not tonight).

Then With the 6-4 finish we are 2 seed in the BEAST tourney and. 5 seed in NCAA.

Tonight wouldn't be a weird one. We're a 3 point underdog.

At home against SJU would be. We'll likely be favored by 6 or 7 points.

6-4 would be a regression in performance for this team. Meh I get we have been on the right side of close games but come on were better than going 6-4 the rest of the way. This team hasn't played it's best ball yet either imo. We are due for some complete games where we get up big early and coast from there

LoudMouth

Not trying to throw shots here, just wondering if those who said 6-4 still stand by it after Butler...meaning going 5-4 now the rest of the way

Was on the 6-4 train, and after last night I'd probably switch to at least 7-3.  Next two are huge, win both of those and I'd probably amend my prediction again, but hindsight is always 20-20.

I didn't want to commit to a prediction... I'm never a fan of putting hard number predictions down (which is why I never see myself as getting into sports betting!).  But after last night, and feeding on my eternal optimism... I'm going 9-1.  We're going to split with Nova and grab W's on the rest of 'em from here on out, even if some of the games are close.  This team improves every week.

WE ARE MARQUETTE!

Unfortunately, I did not. I went with 6-4, and seriously considered 7-3

Think we also won 27 when Al did his swan song.

Yeah I'll likely still go 5-4.

The way SJU played last night against Creighton, I'm hopeful that doesn't happen next week. Yes 5-4 would be sucky going into BEAST tourney. But I'm not sad about 13-5.

Last night was one of the best chances for a loss. Considering the dominate performance I'm definitely reconsidering. Upping my thoughts to 6-3 the rest of the way. Loss at Nova, 1 of at Hall/at Providence, and 1 WTF loss.

I'm also concerned about the CU return trip.  They're firmly on the bubble now, and a will likely have a huge chip on their shoulders after how our last Omaha trip ended, a Q1a win would likely get them over the hump and into the field.  They will come ready to play.

We will crush them CU.

Butler supposedly was desperate last night .... and they were at home ... and we could never, ever, ever, ever snap the Hinkle jinx. Riiiiiight.

We simply are a lot better than Creighton, and we will be ready to dominate them at Fiserv. Frankly, that is one of the games that concerns me the least. I'm more concerned about @DePaul and @Providence than I am about CU at home.

Obviously, I hope I'm more right than you are on this one!

As for what Kenpom has us going ... I laughed out loud on that one.

I certainly hope that you're right too, and after watching what they did against StJ's last night I'm feeling better, but, they remind me a lot us last year, where if they're hitting their 3's anything can happen.  It should also be worth noting that they have their 8 day break right before they play us, while we're playing without a doubt our toughest remaining game, at Nova, during the midweek slot.  I still think that we're the more talented team (by far), but they'll be rested and wanting some serious revenge for "The Shot".

All fair points, especially about the 3-point shooting.

I just happen to think "wanting revenge" is overrated.

Maybe our guys will want to prove the win at CU wasn't a fluke. Maybe we'll have just won at Nova and will want to keep winning with an eye on a #2 (or higher?) NCAA tourney seed. Maybe we'll have just lost at Nova and will be desperate to get back on the winning track.

Again, Butler desperately wanted to win last night. They just weren't good enough. CU won't be, either (he says, hopefully not overconfidently).

Nope. I said 6-4 but Butler was the 2nd most likely loss to me behind @ Nova. We got that one.

Changing my guess to 6-3 the rest of the way.

Goose

Said yesterday and will say it today, aside from 'Nova they should beat every other opponent the rest of regular season. I think they go 7-2 or 8-1 rest of regular season.
