Apologies if posted elsewhere – but a really nice piece on the Creighton game by Mike Lopresti on NCAA.com.  Worth the click and the read.  My favorite part:

“McDermott mentioned the scouting reports he had heard from other coaches who had looked down the business end of Markus Howard, “The theme was, if he has one of those nights when he’s making circus shots, good luck.

6 ranked road teams lost in 24 hours.

Last time Creighton lost after scoring over 100 was 1977?  Could mean something real exciting about this year!

Yeah, that phrasing struck me as a little, ahhh, awkward.

Otherwise really interesting article.

Markus Howard has these nights where it makes you wonder what if he was 6'4.

He would shoot the ball 6 inches to far every shot

He would be playing in the NBA already.

Duke, Kansas, or Kentucky would have had a very nice year in 16-17 and he would be in the pros.

Watching Markus in the post game video done by #mubb,  Markus makes Tim Tebow look scummy in comparison.

It's a little surprising Markus got so little recruiting attention from the blue bloods. As a 5-11 guard, he played on the gold medal-winning 2015 USA U16 National Team, after all -- averaging 15 ppg while shooting 48.4% (an all-time record) from long range.

His teammates included 4 current NBA players (Wendell Carter, Jr., Kevin Knox, Gary Trent, Jr., and Jarred Vanderbilt) and at least 1 soon-to-be NBA draft pick (Tre Jones).

Yet I believe the biggest program Markus received an offer from was home state school Arizona. Nothing from Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. Their loss.

I think as a general rule the blue bloods don't recruit kids hard until they are seniors unless they are for sure 5 stars. Markus never gave them the chance because of the reclassification.

Also Collin Sexton, I think.

I think Sexton played on the U17 team a year later. Don't think he and Markus were on the same roster.

According to St Johns fans, Zona didn’t want him and nobody else good recruited him cause he doesn’t play good defense  :o
