Did anyone else wonder what the record for points in a 5 minute overtime is?
Creighton scored 19 points and lost. That has to be a record for points scored by a losing team. I could see another team scoring 21 points in overtime, but I have to believe a combined 40 points is a record.

I have no idea how to look up that record but I would be surprised if 40 was the most all time. Just last night Central Connecticut State and Fairleigh Dickinson scored a combined 36 points in their 2nd overtime. And IIRC there's been a couple of 36 and 38 point ones this season. Maybe the highest of the season but I'd be surprised if it was highest all time with so many coming close to tying or breaking the record this season.

It definitely was a high scoring overtime for both teams.  The pace of that kind of production over 40 minutes would be incredible.

For a second I thought this thread refered to our overtime record this year...which is 3-0 by the way. Against (N)Louisville, (H)Wisconsin, and (A)Creighton.

Pretty incredible stat, when you consider that Wojo has yet to win 3 games in a row over Big East opponents in regular season conference play.  Think he gets that monkey off his back today.
