Refs sure know how to make a basketball game hard to watch.  Gotta let them play a little. This is not a good product.

Reffing is something else. Not one sided. Just....something else.

It's brutal. And when it's called completely differently game to game, and often within the same game, it makes things difficult.

How nice it is to be able to play like crap on offense with a ridiculous amount of foul trouble and still be leading by 9 at half.

Really happy with Sacar today. Jamal with a nice show so far.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

The foul on Markus to get him FTs was a terrible call. The 2nd foul on Heldt was horrific. Joey got the ball slapped out of his hand and they call a travel. Both teams should be annoyed

Hankins sits for 16 minutes, MU still up 9 after having 16 point lead.
X did not make a three and missed 8 free throws.

Theo, Ed and Heldt have 6 fouls and no points.  Like said, only three MU players scored.

Sam and Markus went 2 for 11 from three.  Markus missed a front end free throw.  Lots of points left on the floor.
Sacar having game of career, along with Joey.

Contain Hankins again and have Sam get going and should pull this out.

Nothing but negativity in the game thread.  Shocking.

Sam is just wayyyy off. Shots that were automatic are ugly.

Hauser (Sam) has been off the last few games.  Something wrong physically? Or just one of those steaks?
"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me.” Al McGuire

Makes sense to jump to the extreme there. People love to bitch.

Ugly first half, but nice to be up 9 with such an ugly performance.  That's definite improvement over last year.  D is so much better.  Xavier isn't ver good, and losing Hankins didn't help, but, we are playing physically.

We do lack overall athleticism and that will be what limits the ceiling of this team.

I think there was justification for frustration that first half even with the lead. Xavier was sleep walking as bad as any team I’ve seen this year and we seemed to play down to them

What’s wrong with Sam? Seems a step slower and his shot just hasn’t been there season.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I agree - we played poorly.  Would hope to see some positive posts about the play of Sacar, Joey, and the defense but those are few and far between. Just the nature of a message board I guess.

There is no flow to this game with all of the whistles.

Also hilarious moment in first half after the Cain block the ref yelled at the bench to sit down not realizing it was the media timeout.

I disagree with the idea that Xavier was sleepwalking. Our defense made them look bad. I only remember a few open shots given up and at least 2 of them were threes to a career 25% 3PT shooter.

This might be the worst game Sam has ever played. Not used to seeing that from him.

They couldn’t even draw iron on half their shots. That’s more than good defense

I am genuinely concerned about Sam. It's either health or confidence--maybe both?

Was at 42% from 3 before today. He's had a couple of horrid shooting games, including today, that have brought that percentage down.

Were those shots open or contested? If they were contested, the main culprit is our defense.

Xavier wasn't sleepwalking in the first half. We were. Despite that, we had a 9 point lead at the half.

Markus currently 17-8-4.

Let's get him 6 more boards somehow.  :)
