Defense should be a constant, offense rarely is. 
Thats why defense wins championshipd.

Ed's defense and ability to come down with the boards is pretty damn good though.

Theo gets two blocks a game and misses 5 rebounds trying to get them.  Ed plays solid positional defense. And gets position while Theo is flying thru the air.

We started on a 14-5 run, I don't believe it was ever a single digit game after that, and we led by double digits almost the entire second half. There weren't really a lot of times the crowd needed to come alive.

Maybe I'm just being old and crotchety but it just seemed like not a single student did a cheer, they didn't jump and do the "ohhhh" thing, they did nothing during free throws, nobody turned and yelled sucks, idk just felt sad.

Fiserv is cool though.

Lots of whistles n really bad turnovers by both teams
Alot of bad shooting by both teams, you hope tgehome crowd is great at all times but this one was definitely UGLY

Students are still on break, I believe.

It was a more subdued atmosphere than recent games like Buffalo, UW-M, and K State, but it also was never close. In a tighter game, the atmosphere is better.

This.  It was an early start on a Sunday morning.  We had a big crowd.  What's to complain about?

Look if nobody had called me out and told me how wrong I was when I said that the student section would be dull over break maybe my expectations wouldn't have been set so high.

Also I remember driving up for Georgetown my freshman year and West Virginia on New Years my sophomore year plus an ND game and all of those were loud and crazy despite break.

Georgetown was a 3-point win, WVU was a 5-point win. Both were very close and in doubt into the final minute. ND was close into the first and we didn't really pull away until after the under-16 in the second.

Today it didn't feel close at any point. Once Joey's three made it 11-3, X never again cut the score to two possessions. Hard to compare that to comparably narrow margins.

true but doesnt explain the lack of jumping for the opening tip, or lack of turning and yelling "sucks" during opponent intros. that all happens before the game.

I understand that maybe there's more intermingling with the non student crowd over break, but I called it weeks ago before buffalo that it'd be low energy and got shot down on here by multiple posters saying otherwise simply because it had sold out.
