1st half: Sam and Theo
2nd half: It was the Markus and Theo show

Class71

Markus of course but what an effort by Theo and this entire team. By far the best game in the Wojo era.

Hausers are once again strong.

Morrow was also a beast.

Joe, Jamal contributed.

Beyond expectations AND Wojo  and staff have pulled this group together

Cmon...

People need to stop finding reasons to nitpick Markus. I have no idea why people can't see what kind of player we've got here.

And I would have Sam in second anyway.

It was just my uninformed opinion. Markus had a really great half though, so I'd personally give him Stud of the Second Half.

A few years ago, Miguel Cabrera won the triple crown.    The advanced stats guys still swear that Trout had a better season.     A triple crown tops advanced metrics.   a 40 point half erases a poor first half.

Hmmm, who could it be?

The following question does not imply I think the players are or will be equivalent in talent at any point now or in the future!  Do not post this on Scoop Takes without this caveat!

Have you seen a player make the type and quantity of shots in one half that Markus made besides Steph Curry? Or Klay Thompson?

I would like to give many people shoutouts because a lot of players played really well, but really only one name is worthy of being mentioned.  That was the best half I've ever seen a college basketball player play.  It's obviously Markus.

Theo

we were still winning in the first half even with Markus on the bench with the foul trouble (thanks Theo and Hausers). it's my opinion, we blew them out cuz of Markus, but we probably still win without him.

Yep. We probably do win even if Markus doesn't go off. We're a good team and can beat opponents in lots of different ways now.

However ...

With Markus scoring 40 effen points in one half of basketball, we definitely win, and we do so going away against a well-coached, veteran-filled, top-15 team that hadn't lost a game and had won in some tough environments.

Frankly, the final score of the game was closer than Markus' margin over any other Warrior Eagle in the SOTG competition.

And I REALLY love the performances of Theo and Sam (and several others, too).

The guy had 45 points, including 40 in the second half when the game was decided. Sheesh.

The crowd deserves some serious mention. They were loud and into it. It was packed floor to ceiling. Lower bowl probably 97% full, upper probably 85-90% full. They stripped all the banners to open the entire student section. Best Christmas break crowd in my years as a STH.

But on the court, obviously Markus Howard.

TVDirector

Outside of Baileys play, everyone performed quite well.
But MH's second half is legendary already.

Markus by a mile.

1st 30? The entire team - Howard.

The last 10? Howard, all the way. Somehow.

Markus for sure.

I vote The ANSWER for the black and blue SOTG. Dude went up fearless mutltiple times to the rim, never daunted. Got blocked almost every time. Just kept going.

Markus and Theo were unreal.  I feel like they both fed off each other in the second half....

But Markus scores 40 in the second half.  That's legendary.

TallTitan34

Joey's three straight three pointers was the turning point of the game.

But yeah, Markus.

I've never seen a player like this.

This is a very solid basketball team.

Joey sniffs out buckets. Markus is the rainmaker. Joey is the grinder. Sam is something in between

TAMU, Knower of Ball

1) Markus
2) Theo, certainly the defensive stud of the game
3) Joe, we could have lost control of this game if not for his solid play when Markus was out
4) SPASH Brothers, pick either one
5) Cain, way to step up when your number is called young man

Huge shoutout to Wojo for coaching. Thought he managed the foul trouble very well

Yup, lock this thing up.

40 points makes the decision a no brainer. 40 in a half makes the thread unnecessary. Markus by a million.

TSmith34, Inc.

Markus because...duh.

Theo, love it.  The middle 20 minutes of the game he absolutely dominated.

The Hausers-- they just do everything.  Sam had some incredible 3's and Joey was a monster.  Love his play as a Freshman.

Beautiful to see Jamal have some really positive minutes tonight,
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Mr. Sand-Knit

Markus for sure, but.....

I think everyone really stepped up tonight.  The Hausers were huge!!
I had cruticized Theos rebounding n he was very good.  Cains length n rebounding were what the doctor ordered. Joseph was excellent i loved his deep pull up! Great play all around.
Bailey n sacar struggled mightily and that position continues to be a weakness, i wish greg was coming back
