I normally don’t do this, but Ed has the two biggest plays down the stretch so I’m going with him.

I want to like this kid but...my goodness!

I’m not even sure he belongs in D1. And I understand he had a 50 point game, and a 45 point game and 27 points today. He’s just the weirdest player ever.

I have read some seriously crazy stuff here on Scoop but this takes the cake. WTF????

Did you pay attention to his lockdown defense on a guy who has been ridiculously good all year?

Even on a bad offensive night he was still critical to this win.

Agreed. Looking at the box score, it's tough to justify, but he really played big down the stretch, and he also hit the two free throws when no one else could hit one. The block saved the game, the putback won it, he was the biggest player in the biggest moments.

If not Ed, I'd say Sam then Joey. Sam was huge on the glass, Joey hit some big shots and showed some great moves.

There were numerous times in the game I wanted Sam or Joey to shoot, but UW closed out just enough that they didn’t pull the trigger because of the length in front of them.

This was my observation, too. On 3 or 4 occasions, I literally yelled at the TV, "Shoot, Sam!" But by the time I finished saying "Sam," a defender was there and he couldn't shoot.

Markus is not a PG, not the way most of us think of PGs. He's not even a "scoring PG" in the mode of Kyrie or Kemba. He simply does not see the court as well, see the openings he creates for teammates. I don't mean that to sound like a knock; every player has strengths and shortcomings, and this is Markus' main shortcoming. I hope he gets better at it as the season progresses and he gains experience being what he has to be for us, but I also am a realist. Markus has a very unique skill set, and I am thrilled he is a Warrior ... even if I'm not even sure he belongs in D1.

As for SOTG ... this game presents the most difficult choice for the mods that I can remember. There is no one (or even two) obvious choices, where you say, "It's gotta be X."

I lean slightly toward Morrow, not only for delivering the two absolutely critical plays but also for playing every minute at the 5 down the stretch of regulation and OT, and making Happ earn every point.

I think the box score would say Sam. 13 pts/14 rebs/4 ast/0 TOs. Eye test would probably say Joey. But in terms of clutch play it'd be Ed. And he was the only one that had a chance against Happ defensively, though honestly, Happ had his way with just about everyone.

Brew just nailed it.
- Box score is Sam.
- Watching the game I give it to Joey.
- Getting them over the finish line was Ed.
Markus was only a runner up.  I like Sam simply because he seems to take a serious leadership role every game directing the team on the court.  It doesn't show anywhere except in the W's.

Sam, Joey, Ed, Marcus, and Wojo.  All contributed to the great win.  Sam's rebounds were huge.

Tough call for the mods. Eye test says Joey or Ed. Stat sheet says Sam. Even after sleeping on it. I do like BC77 takes about Ed's two plays - one getting us to OT and the other securing the win - while doing a yeoman's job on Happ who flashed a heckuva game yesterday. My advisory opinion (we don't have votes) would be Ed.

Really a tough call here. Ed had the biggest individual plays of the game, but the Hauser's were also very solid. Despite Markus' terrible shooting he was a factor getting UW in foul trouble and getting to the line.

Also, to Markus' credit, he held the best 3-point shooter %-wise in the nation to 1-6 from deep. He did a good job on Trice. Even though Happ had a monster game, the team contained Wisconsin's other scorers.

Stud for the "entire" game was Sam.  Loved Morrow at the end, but Sam was the man.

Went with Sam.  Consistency, double-double.

Ed (and Joey) had a couple "plays of the game".  Markus impressive from the line.

That's how I saw it too Rock.  (You may want to edit your 'Markus from the line'.  He uncharacteristically missed 3/4 at the end.  Those 2 were especially huge.  He would be the first to tell you that 80% is unacceptable.)
