AM 540 and 94.5 will simulcast MU games, as 94.5 is changing it's format to 24 hour sports and carry ESPN Milwaukee programming.

This is big news for those of us who tune in to the postgame show while driving home from games.

Now if ESPN Milwaukee could do something about their atrocious daytime programming.

I'm not sure how the programming is in the other sports station but if it's as bad as 540 I feel bad for all of you who live in Milwaukee.  I live in Minneapolis and the caliber of the shows here puts 540 to shame.  Unfortunately it also means putting up with a lot of Vikings conversation but even during the season the programming is diverse and fairly interesting.

Anyway, sounds like this is good news for MU and MU fans.

Spot on.

As a Brewers/Bucks//Packers/MU fan, I am reduced to listening to the SCORE out of Chicago.

Rip my country music.

Country? I didn't even know KTI had gone through that format change. My personal 15 minutes of fame was as a weekly regular on Reitman & Mueller's Milwaukee Trivial Pursuit every Wednesday for a few years. It was a pop music station at the time, this was probably late-80s.

Correct.  Does anyone listen anymore?  I think it had its few years of fame.  That said it'll be nice to hear the post game.

As a sweater vester who lives in Door County, yours truly anguishes over the absence of any radio broadcasts of MU basketball.  Can any scooper out there suggest a source/way/means of getting the games on radio?  Some years ago, there was a station in Manitowoc that carried the games, but I think that source is no longer available.

Wildbill .. there are numerous streaming options if you have internet .. I am not sure if the WKTI change will have any effect on this .. but last year ..

Streams:

http://espnmilwaukee.com
https://tunein.com/radio/ESPN-Milwaukee-540-s22569/

Then these were the Marquette Radio Network:

ESPN Milwaukee (540 AM) - Milwaukee (Flagship)
WTLX 100.5 FM - Madison (ESPN Radio)
WFHR 1320 AM - Wisconsin Rapids
WDLB 1450 AM - Marshfield
WXCO 1230 AM - Wausau
WSCO 1570 AM/95.3 FM - Appleton
WOMT 1240 AM - Manitowoc
WDUZ 107.5 FM - Green Bay
WJUB 1420 AM - Plymouth/Sheboygan

You could try the Green Bay, Manitowoc or Appleton stations on a good night.

FYI for anyone in Central WI. 94.5 FM carries up the Interstate to about between Portage and the Dells. It gets cut off there by a Classic Rock station on the same frequency out of Tomah, which interestingly enough I'm the news and sports guy for ...

I'd be all for shutting off our signal for 3 hours during MU games, particularly games in which Dickey Simpkins is doing color.

Topper has it.  I listen all the time out in Vegas over my computer if for some reason I don't feel like going to a watering hole to watch it.  I also use the interwebs to listen at home to the post game.

I'm in the same spot Glow. Usually watch game on TV, then listen to post game on web.

And not to hijack but it was somewhat challenging to get the Crew up in Gogebic County this September.  We found an AM station out of Ironwood and if we drove southeast toward the Eagle River WI area we were able to pick up a pretty solid FM station.  Packers?  Never a problem.  In fact, all of Alaska is Packers nation.  Radio, TV, everything.

When does this switch happen?  Tried 94.5 after the game and they still had music.
