I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

"One year ago, Greg Elliott was a 6'3-1/2" 160 lb. combo guard recruited from Detroit.  Elliot is now a sophomore and has increased his weight to 175 lbs."

Elliott was listed at 170 last year, listed at 175 this year. Put on 5 lbs, not 15. Big difference there

When Elliott arrive at Marquette he was 160 lbs. Got up to 170 before the season.

If Bailey, Elliot, Joey and Cain can come off the bench and hit 3s they should make up for the loss of Rowsey while improving our defense. We shall see in a little over 2 months from now.

Elliot can come off and slash when Chartouny needs a break. Joey can stretch when Morrow needs one. Bailey and Cain are who I'm not so sure about their role.

Okay 247 has him at 165. But my point is that he only added 5 lbs vs. what he was playing at last year. Better than nothing, but it's misleading. Makes the casual observer think he put on 15 lbs vs. last season, which would be absolutely huge.

"A Plan? Oh man, I hate plans. That means were gonna have to do stuff. Can't we just have a strategy......or a mission statement."

Strength doesn't necessarily equal weight.

I'm sure he is stronger and better conditioned than last year.

When it comes to height/weight, the only sources worth listening to are the player and the school, and even those probably stretch the truth at times. Recruiting outlets aren't weighing these kids at AAU events. If Greg is saying he put on ten pounds of positive weight, that's going to be a better source than a 247 guess from 2 years ago.

At the same time, there's only so much weight you can put on a frame like Elliott's.

Five pounds of muscle for him could easily equate to 15 pounds for someone whose not a complete twig.

Not every guard is built like Jalen Brunson. And strength isn't as important in the backcourt as quickness. But if Greg has put on even 5 pounds of muscle in the offseason, it should help his defense, rebounding and overall game.
