...but they won't be old either. I keep coming up with an estimated range of ~180 to 200 in the nation. I think that's fine. Creighton and Butler both fell into that range last season, but we'll be a bit unique in that our returning minutes are going to be very high combined with unusual newcomers (GSr., fourth-year RJr., two RFr., 1 21 year old true frosh).... no concerns about the "experience" age factor this coming year, but we definitely will not be 'an older, experienced team'... nor will be 'young'.

Anyone come up with very different projections?

More thoughts/numbers HERE if you're so inclined..

I would add our three true sophomores all played significant minutes against Big East and other quality opponents.  So the value of their experience should be given extra consideration.

I look at it this way , we have 7 guys who have proven they can compete at varying degrees of ability at the Big East level, One guy who has demonstrated competitive ability at the Big Ten level and one guy who has proven consistent competitive ability at the A-10 level. Any thing we get from the 3 freshman is icing on the cake and thus they can be put in situations that fit their skill sets.

MU will be able to answer the bell and come out fighting against any opponent. When we get in the tough 15 round fights with Big East opponents  and some of the tough non con we have this year , our cumulative experience should be an asset.

We'll be just right.

And we're gonna kick some arse.

Great article. Think everyone here is tired of hearing about how young Marquette is. Thanks for posting, JayBee.
