Alleges the families of six players received payments for those kids to attend four adidas-sponsored schools: Louisville, Miami, NC State and Kansas.

Maybe Quentin Grimes wants to re-think his commitment?

I think even if Grimes did decommit, it's been made pretty clear he aint coming here.

If he decommits from Kansas, my money is in Texas.

I think he would follow the Arizona decommit to Villanova.

Lol, agree.

I'm not a lawyer, but having read the indictment, it seems that Kansas' case is significantly different from NC State and Louisville's. It seems that, in Kansas' case, the player and collaborators were doing everything they could to keep Kansas from knowing at all. The indictment specifically lays this out, as the payments were arranged to seemingly pay off his decommitting from a rival apparel company/team.

Again, no expert here, but just from the raw text, I don't see how this torpedoes Kansas in any way.

Now if he said NORTH DAKOTA, that would be meaningful. Headquarters for the Public Banking Institute, which champions complete independence from TBTF Wall Street-tied institutions.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

I haven't read the updated indictment, so I'll take your word for what is alleged there, but color me skeptical that Addidas was shelling out tens of thousands of dollars to get players to commit to KU without KU at least having reason to suspect what was going on.

Doesn't this section implicate a coach at Kansas?  https://twitter.com/danwetzel/status/983827948494098432?s=21

Also, it's pretty hilarious that Silvio de Sousa was worried about his guardian having to repay Nike its initial money.  What was Nike going to do, so then for breach of contract?

I have to imagine at some point, Self told someone at Adidas "Do what you need, but keep my name out of it." They could've been steering players to Kansas for years without the staff being aware of exactly how they landed the kids they did.

I am no expert on Bill Self but this seems like a pretty big assumption about someone who has had a spotless reputation so far in his career.  Like I said, I am no expert but I cannot recall any issues in Self's past.

Actually, probably Under Armour. de Sousa was headed to Maryland before Kansas.

It's safe to say all college coaches, and especially the successful ones, are control freaks who know everything that goes on with their program.
That being the case, it's pretty naive to believe Self had no clue about why a kid who by all accounts was headed to Maryland suddenly flipped to Kansas. Self may very well be completely insulated here, but for him to have no idea of what was happening here seems unlikely.

In all of these cases the Feds are investigating, I wonder how a coach with no participation in recruiting a top ranked recruit like Silvio de Sousa just so happens to keep an open scholarship available for a last minute commitment.

Haha! Excellent. But I need to disagree - a much bigger bank that has not yet faced indictments - I'd make that switch!

The Carlton Bragg and Josh Jackson recruitments were shady and the car situation this year was clear as day that Billy Preston was driving a car he shouldn't have been.
