Lost amongst the big ND win
« on: January 14, 2008, 11:07:18 PM »
I didn't see anyone mention Travis' huge night on Saturday.  In 29 minutes of action, he scored 19 points (6 for 10, 5 for 7 from downtown), in a road win @ Sacramento...one of his best regular season games in his career.

Word on the street is Tinsley is becoming unpopular in O'Brien's camp, which could only mean more minutes for Travis.

I was listening to the pre-game of Indy vs. GSW two nights ago, and the radio guy for GS asked his Indy counterpart about Diener, saying he's really come alive the past couple of games and asked if Diener should be considered Tinsley's backup at this point of the season.

The Indy guy stated that Diener changes the tempo of the game. He pushes the ball and knows how to find the open guy. He also added that Andre Owens was to be the backup but though not as good as a shooter as Diener, his defense has earned him some minutes. Furthermore, he stated that Diener's weaknesses were defense and if he could take the nightly pounding and questioned if those two could ever be compensated by his smart playmaking and shooting ability. The phrase he used a lot to describe Diener was "tempo changer".
