I know it probably doesn't matter to him much because he is such a team player, but I feel bad that Sam's stats are suffering due to him being so banged up.

Just about everybody here knows how important he is to the team, but his importance has been magnified these past few games by when he wasn't on the court.

Can't wait to see him healthy next season, with another year of experience under his belt and with more help in the frontcourt for him.

He is a Warrior.  And I'll bet right now he couldn't give a damn about his stats.  Just win baby.

I am positively giddy about the length and athleticism we're going to have next year led by Morrow, Joey, Sam, and Cain. Little zone might be in the cards with those measurables.

DoggyDaddy

If all he can do is throw the inbound pass during a full court press which is bound to happen more than a few times, he will be helping this team. Then of course, he take the ball back and get fouled.

A Syracuse/Duke type zone with that length would do wonders for this team if we can keep scoring at this ridicuolous pace. Even if it's not nearly as effective, just gotta get to top 75 (still relatively mediocre) vs. current #175 and this team would be a top 10/15 squad. Any means necessary!

Sam is the leader of this team and is pivotal to our wins.  He has played his heart out hurt and we need him on the court as much as he can stand it. True Warrior.
Go Marquette!

Totally agree.  Sam is the glue to this team.  Unfortunate that we needed him on floor SO much down the stretch as he was fighting the hip injury.  Averaged about 35 since January.  Heavy, heavy minutes - especially since he was usually battling with guys a little bigger/stronger.

Sam's the man, one of my 3-4 favorite Warriors of the post-Wade era (Jae, Jimmy ... and of course Fitz - ha).

I can't wait to see his "even better" younger brother in a Warrior uniform!!

Yup, Sam is up there with DJO as my favorite modern era players.

Plus Eke if he has made enough strides

GooooMarquette

Sam's hustle and versatility reminds me of one of my recent favorites - Lazar.

Good post. Just hope he doesn't do any permanent damage. Best player on the team. He does everything well without the flash. Great team player who gets it.

Has Eke even been practicing? Hard to makes strides if you aren't playing.

Glad he's been able to tough it out a little longer, since Sam at 30% is a positive and making a difference.

If you don't like Sam Hauser, you don't like college basketball. He really is what college ball should be all about.

I can't imagine there being even a remote possibility that his continuing to play could lead to permanent damage. If there was, he'd be in street clothes next to Morrow and Eke. No one is risking permanent damage for the NIT.

If he's playing on one leg, shouldn't that be 50%?

I like to think this is true. We have to trust that Wojo and the medical staff have each kid's best interests at heart.

My main concern is that in order to compensate for problems in one leg, he messes up the other.

But again, no reason to think he's in danger.

minus rowsey running his mouth too much earlier in the season for my liking (seems like wojo put an end to that)...i don't think there is a player on MU's team that doesn't signify what college bball should be about????

OK. We might have slightly different perspective on this topic., but I'll go with your thought.

All right, Goose, now you've stoked our curiosity. Which Warriors are not worthy of being "what college basketball should be about" and why?

(The answer to this query should be a doozy)

My guess is it's the way Sam rarely shows emotion and always keeps his composure. Cool, even-tempered, level-headed, a steadying influence. Pretty much the exact opposite of Rowsey: fiery, emotional, in your face, more of a hothead. Personally, I think there's room on a good team for both personality types.

Yeah the #10 car will have to go into the garage this summer and have some body work done, but it is nothing that will lead to any permanent damage by racing on it on the way it is.  Maybe a few more pit stops and changing of tires, but that car is still darn good.
