Not many teams and/or coaches that its more fun to see choke away a 22 point game with 11 minutes left in the game than Cinci/Mick.  Especially when his bracket broke WIDE open for him to make a Final Four.

Adios.

That's completely on Cronin too, that's an all timer there.

The technical on the Mussleman was key.  At that point in time, 6 fouls called on Nevada, one on Cincinnati.  After that tech, one called on Nevada and 7 on Cincinnati.   Reminded me of MU vs Stanford when their coach got T'd up and completely changed how they called the game the rest of the way.

Cincinnati needed to adjust after, but they didn't.

That's so garbage. If it's a foul in the beginning of the game, it's a foul at the end and everywhere in between. Just because some coach goes off shouldn't influence how refs call games.

Sometimes it's not about the refs but about how hard a team plays after a technical.

It shouldn't, but it does.  Coach McGuire often spoke of it as a way to have the refs change how they called games.  You may not be old enough to remember, but Al took T's sometimes to motivate the club, but also to change how the refs officiated.  Musselman's old man was a savvy coach in his own right at the University of Minnesota, though he spent most of his time in CBA and NBA.  He taught his son well.  That T influenced how the game was called.

That guy is such a spaz, sets a horrible example for his players acting like that, and only hurts the team's cause.

Wojo is definitely above average in the referee-antagonizing department, but Cronin takes it to an entirely new level.

Mick was yelling at the refs after the final whistle for not calling a foul (or something) on that disaster of a final possession.

Yep.  And I only saw the last couple of minutes so I have no idea.

They didn't lose because of the refs.  They lost because Cronin was having a coronary the last 10 minutes, ignored coaching his team, and they tightened up.  Cumberland fouled out at 5 min mark, and they choked.

Cincinnati's meltdown added to a banner weekend for the AAC.  Wichita State choked against Marshall.  Houston lost at the buzzer to Michigan.  Since UConn's 2014 National Championship, that conference has had a total of zero teams make the Sweet 16.  That's rough.

Found it amusing when the Ollie firing news broke that the response from Seth Greenberg to "What's next for UConn?" was a suggestion to throw the football program they don't care about wherever and find a way into the Big East.

They're not going to throw the football program wherever. They have to answer to government/taxpayers on all of the football investments. They will be looking to rebuild the basketball program in the AAC, nothing dramatic is going to happen with their alignment until the next round of conference restructuring. And certainly not saying that's imminent at all, or that it will work out for them, I'm just saying. History says it will happen again and Uconn will hope to be in a good position at that time.

It would be gigantic for the Big East to pull in Uconn basketball, but I'm not so sure we will see Uconn and Marquette in the same conference again in any of our lifetimes.

They also have to answer for the substantial funds that the state is providing in tax payer money for an athletic budget that is spending nearly $80 million annually, but only receiving $1.7 million annually from its TV deals.  They one of the highest student subsidies in the entire nation (I believe it's now over $30 million).  The budget grows every year, but attendance at football and men's basketball has tanked since leaving the Big East.  I guess no one wants to go watch Tulane, Houston, East Carolina, SMU, UCF and Tulsa.

The piggy bank is not unlimited.  At some point, every public institution has to account and answer for the funds it is being given and what it is being spent on.  If UConn athletics was a stock, let's just say that it wouldn't be one that people would be jumping to buy...

The best part of the meltdown was when Cumberland fouled out (bad coaching) and Mick started screaming at Cumberland to "calm the f$&* down" while making an absolute ass of himself. He must be a bag dropper cause I just don't get why anyone would want to play for that douche-nossle.
