Pick this up at 4:15 mark.  Wojo must be a Scooper!  I kind of like Snarky Steve!

Didn't hear or see any snark.

Referring to being young, I think. Maybe.

Perhaps snarky isn't the right word.  Maybe Sensitive Steve would be better.  Combine his reaction about using the word young, and that only "real" MU fans come out to the NIT - Seems Wojo is a little sensitive/feeling tense.

Eldon

what the hell, you guys.  You missed the most explicit Scoop reference: "respect the process."

chapman

Completely missed that connection, with the line / lane using FIBA rules and Wojo having the coaching experience.  Between that, our guys already shooting beyond the line, foul resets, the rules changes should be quite the positive for us.

I'm sure some will find it so horrible  ::) ,  but with every other coach whining about not getting in it's nice to hear Wojo just admit we weren't slighted but we missed a couple of chances along the way, but moving forward and focusing on this tournament.  I want to win this thing.

Maybe he made that comment because of fans like you who hide on the internet and rip the program.  I will be there supporting the team, you can stay home and do something else.

We weren't slighted. To say otherwise is to ignore the facts.

I thought coach was great in his presser.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I liked the presser. You can tell coach loves his players and wants to make sure they are getting the support they deserve. And the players deserve all the support we can give them,  they've played their hearts out. I hope the Al is rocking for the next three games

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Just watched the presser... I didn't see any snarky anything. Seemed fair and honest. And he's right, fans that are truly fans of MU and the program will hopefully still come and support the team.

Let's face it.....He was probably as pissed as we were that we did not make the NCAA's especially when you see Oklahoma and Syracuse in.....

But I do not think we deserved those 2 spots either.....So I am like....It is what it is......

Experience for next year......OK......

But if I were him......I would be trying to figure out how to play defense.....Because this kind of defense employed presently is the quickest way to get his a$$ fired after next year.......

PuertoRicanNightmare

If you're beginning to pick at random statements from Wojo as proof of something, you've got issues. I'm not saying he's John Wooden as a coach, but he could hardly be a more likable guy.

Id rather be in the NCAA, but I'm looking forward to the NIT.

It was a silly comment to even make.  Is Wojo that thin skinned that the chatter of some fans who aren't yet sold on him (or get tired of him pointing to our being young in Year 4 of his program that has had just one, 1 and done), manages to make its way into his presser?

He shouldn't give a F about what any of us think.  He should care about fixing our defense, and improving as a coach.  WE showed ZERO improvement on the defensive end all year.

I'll be tuned in and rooting on MU Wednesday night just as I always do.  You do realize you can be a huge fan of the team, but not sold on the coach.  They are not mutually exclusive.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Anybody know where I can buy the shirt Wojo is wearing in that presser?

Yup.  I'm sure the coach isn't worried about winning and defense and is only worried about what the fanbase thinks of him...

And asking him to give something up is the best way to ensure that we have 4 threads on the same topic that bleed over into every other post.  And never end.  Ever.  At any time.

True.  Lots of people on the Wojo bandwagon Year 1 and 2.  I was off it 6 games into his career at MU.

Just as I said Buzz would likely lead us to Elite 8's and Final Fours if he stuck around for 10 years, at the same juncture of his MU career (~6 games in.)  You scoffed, as I recall.

Just as I said, Buzz was off his last year at MU, early in the season - knew something wasn't right.  You and some of the other usual bury head in the sand guys once again took issue.  Said the Larry Williams comments in the journal were ridiculous and were rocking the boat with our Most Valuable Employee at MU (Buzz at time.)  Was appointed tin foil hat founder/club by you, and the other handful of sheep here.

Hell John Dawson is playing in the G-League, and look up and down those rosters and they largely are all filled with players who were 1st-2nd Team All Conference Power 5.

I'd imagine you probably have all of the above saved in your "Ners Archive" which you recently dove into, in the way back time machine as you called it.  Feel free to link here.

I think the rules are a negative for us. We rely on three point shot. Making it further out is no benefit at all.
Widening the lane with our bigmen is no benefit at all. Playing man to man will cause our defenders to be further from the basket with a wider lane since the offensive players will be farther from basket, That will make it even harder for us to rotate to cover a driver. Rules hurt our strength, which is three point shooting and increase our greatest weakness, which is trying to cover players taking the ball to the basket. We would lose by an additional 20 points to Butler or Villanova under these rules.
