You said it. Pitt went 0-18 in ACC play (0-19 if you count tonight's loss) and finished outside the Top 200 according to KenPom.com. This was an NCAA team just 2 seasons ago, its 14th appearance in 16 years (2002-2016). Now it's a dumpster fire.

I heard that. Think it's deserving. "Garbage" is a good word, describing something so worthless that nobody wants it. But "Dumpster fire" takes that idea even further. It's something so bad, it's not enough to just throw it away; you have to set it fire, as well.

Believe they have lost 24 straight ACC games and under Stallings in two years is 4-32.  Yes, 4-32.  They also have no really good recruits coming in for 2018 and this trend may continue.  I can't imagine what their fanbase is like at this point.

Can Pitt get Stallings to accept $6.5 million as a buyout?  He may not.

The Pitt fan base became so critical of Jamie Dixon because they thought he wasn't winning enough. So he finally said the heck with it all and left. Now look at the mess they are left with - it may take years for Pitt to become a competitive again - if ever. So all you Scoopers who are so eager to push Wojo out the door - well be careful what you wish for!

Pretty good article on Pitt situation, recruiting, attendance, downfall, etc.
My friend who is big Pitt alum, advised players hate Stallings, no recruit wants to go there and when you have 1,00 fans in arena that is called the Zoo, not good.  May have to payout to fire him and waiting in wings are Matta and Crean.

This seems like a convenient arguement. 

Coaches have a shelf life + Pitt was really rocked recruiting wise in the move to the ACC.  Made it a lot harder to have the NYC pipeline.  Was the criticism high, yes.  But in reality It was going to be harder for Dixon to be successful.  He saw this and took a good oppty when he had one.  I am sure though the pressure to win is no more intense at Pitt than any other big program.  These guys get paid a lot and Know how quick you get fired it you can't get the program back on track .

Stallings may be a great seller behind closed doors.. but several years ago, he seemed very old and grandpa-ish honestly... not that it's a bad thing, but.. a tough sell for a lot of kids IMO.

Like I said earlier, don't be surprised if Matta and Crean are the viable candidates.  Pitt could not have 1,000 fans showing up for games in an arena which was a crazy place for opponents.  The "Zoo" had turned not a closet.
