Any scenario Marquette gets into the tournament without pushing through to the final of the BET?

JamilJaeJamailJrJuan

I think pretty much any scenario that MU goes 2-0 to finish BE play 9-9 and beats either X or Nova in semis, MU is in the dance and avoids Dayton.

If we end up with the 7 seed, we'll play Nova if we beat SJU/Depaul in 7/10 game.  Win both of those and you're in.

If MU gets the 6 seed and beats PC, Butler, Creighton (whoever ends up the 3 seed) MU is going to have a good shot at Dayton.  Win that game, and then knock off X, and lose to Nova in the finals, MU is in the dance and avoids Dayton (IMO).

All of this would require MU to rattle off 3 or 4 straight Big East wins, which as many here have mentioned, Wojo has never done in his 4 seasons.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Gotta win the next two and avoid losing to SJU or DePaul in the BET to have a shot. Might be enough,  might not be.

To feel confident,  need to win the next 2 and either beat the 3 seed (if we get the 6) or beat the 10 seed and the 2 seed (if we get the 7)

As J5 pointed out... This requires at least 3 consecutive BE wins...which Wojo has never pulled off

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I think that winning our last two and getting to 9-9 will be enough as long as we don't lose to DePaul or St. John's. Whether that's as the 6-seed and we don't play either or as the 7-seed and we go 1-1, I think those regular season games will be the ones that really matter.

I've never believed the Committee puts much stock in those conference tournament games. I think if you come into your conference tournament needing a marquee win, the only marquee win that will matter will be on Saturday. I just don't see those games moving the dial.
