If Izzo is forced out in the Spartan Sex Scandal Who will Be the Next MSU Head Coach

Crean
Wojo

Herman Cain

Here is the latest update on Tom Crean. He is doing very well. If Tom Izzo is thrown out, will MSU go with Crean or Wojo?

You should check Espn

TAMU, Knower of Ball

My guess is that Izzo survives. D'Antonio on the other hand....

Bro I never have espn on. It'll send me 42 notifications of every time Trae young shoots the ball or leBron enters McDonald's.

Mostly right, but OTL is still great

FS1 will have Tom Izzo's press conference after the Wisconsin-Michigan State game.

Yeaaaah that OTL piece on ESPN is pretty brutal and damning with consideration to Izzo and D'Antonio

Let's be honest, MSU isn't going to take a coach that couldn't cut it in the Big Ten or a coach that has yet to win a tourney game. They are an established program, and while the school is going to suffer in a big way in the coming years due to this scandal, Wojo still won't be on their radar.

wadesworld

1) Izzo is going nowhere.
2) If it is bad enough to force Izzo out, MSU will not get anyone near Wojo.

What's Louisville end up with? David Padgett. And what Louisville did was absurd, but it's nothing compared to what MSU did/didn't do, and if the basketball program was involved they will be far worse off.

As always with Heise, the poll/thread is to get attention. But if Izzo was out due to this they won't do nearly as well as getting someone like Wojo.

This sort of scandal is the exact reason MU hired a spotless young asst like Wojo.

As much as I liked our success under Buzz, it was only a matter of time before things got out of control, if they weren't already.

Steve Wojciechowski is doing things the right way, and holding our guys accountable in every possible manner of reference. I'm proud that he is our Coach. I'm honestly more impressed by the appointment of Markus to the NCAA committee than I am by his stellar play. What a great kid! And Greg Elliott is so articulate, such a good teammate. All the guys are impressive as people and as players.
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

...and students.

Two different press conferences by D'Antonio and Izzo.

D'Antonio was adamant and stated complete denial of all allegations, citing each incident was reported, etc.

Izzo made brief one sentence statement advising he won't discuss and looked like a beaten up man.

Who knows by going with the above, but D'Antonio was aggressive, basically saying if I am going down, I am going down with a fight.  Izzo looked like a guy who knew the facts and has already given up.

All very admirable things, and yet not enough to get him a job at MSU

I think Izzo and D'Antonio are both gone. I also think we should feel very fortunate that the President, Athletic Director, Head Basketball Coach, and entire coaching staff that were here in 2011 are now gone.

Just remember that Izzo just got done coaching a basketball game.  I wouldn't read too much into his demeanor.

Yeah, but he knew this was coming. Izzo isn't a stupid guy, he knew the focus after the fact would be the OTL article and what his role was in those events.

Also, my guess is the next MSU Head Coach is Dane Fife on an interim basis. He's the only assistant that wasn't around for the events in the OTL story and has head coaching experience. After that, I'd guess they look for someone well outside the family tree, which means no Crean. Unless we make a surprise Sweet 16 or Elite 8 run, I'd guess that Wojo won't be on their short list.
