New Home & Home Goals

ACC: No Duke / UNC.  Could be Wake, NC State, Ga Tech, a dream would be UVA.  Old Big East teams would be great as well
41 (36.6%)
Big 12: Kansas is out.  Texas and Okla probably touch. What about K State, MU West, Okla State
25 (22.3%)
PAC 12: UCLA probably out.  Arizona came here during TC era.  Utah has been rumored.
15 (13.4%)
Big 10 (fine we'll include mid-majors): Would think almost every Big Ten team is a possibility due to recruiting.  I don't see the allure of NW or Minny.  IU, MSU & Ohio State ideal.  Illinois would be fun
10 (8.9%)
American: UConn, Cinci & Shocker Nation all make a lot of sense
21 (18.8%)

The Lens

We've had a few SEC home & homes recently (Vandy, UGA, LSU) + LSU in the pre-season tourneys and of course UK in the post-season (undefeated since like 1970).  If you could pick a new Home & Home who would it be?  I'll go by conference and I am taking out big dogs like Duke who would probably never come to MKE.

I would love some Big 12 matchups. Great potential there since both leagues have 10 teams.

Cinci or UCONN would be cool. Really I'd take any home and home...MU should play more of them and less terrible buy games.

Hope we get Minnesota in the Gavitt games next year.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I voted big 12. Some good potential matchups. Texas or West Virginia would be fun.

Galway Eagle

I just want Notre Dame.

Kids these days don't know what it's like to have two insane rivalry games on the schedule
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

GooooMarquette

I voted Big Twelethirfourteen.

IU, MSU, or tOSU would all be great, but I would be fine with NW or Minn too:  lots of great recruits in Chicago so another chance to play there would be great, and Wojo has also been active in recruiting Minnesota.

Big 12 would be nice...but I'd be terrified we'd end up with MU West....

1. Notre Dame.

2. Don't really care as long as it helps our RPI.

A few years ago I wanted a home and home with Alabama. Still think that would be a good one. Avery Johnson a good coach. Would live to get that one miked up.

MU - MU West in '96 was actually pretty fun.  We checked into Hilton Magic while they we're #4 and we left with a win plus the monogrammed bath towels.

Notre Dame is pretty much the list. I'm ambivalent on just about anyone else.

Needs to be Notre Dame.  Those games were always amazing as a student.  As I've said before on this site, play every 2nd or 3rd game in Chicago and it'll sell out.

I remember playing North Carolina some time ago as well.  Wouldn't mind seeing that come back, but it'll never be a rivalry - it's just nice to have a regular game against a "blue blood" team.

1. ND
2. Cincy or Louisville (goes back to C-USA days)
3. UCONN or any other former Big East Team.

Not possible to play in Chicago as it would have to be approved by depaul

These are the naturals. Must have ND back first and foremost.
Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana. Some MU history linked to those Big 10 schools. In Purdue's case, not just because I'd like to see Froling, Morrow, John, & Co go against the two 7 footers,  I remember Ric Mount's last shot from the olden days.

avid1010

is MU's rpi at the end of the year based upon the the "ranking" of the team when you play them or the ranking of the team at the end of the year?  i always feel like there are a number of teams that traditionally start out slow (often have a young team) and finish strong.  wondering how that works for their opponents early in the year vs late in the year?

Gonzaga, Michigan State, Arizona, UCONN, Louisville, and maybe Syracuse

For one selfish reason, I'd go for a home and home with a non-rival, UMass. (I live 10 min from the Amherst campus.)

Otherwise, ND, with games only in Milwaukee and South Bend. None of this Chicago stuff.

Well hell, if we're going that route, I'd vote for Cleveland State, Akron or Kent.  Or all three - one MU game in NE Ohio in odd years; two in even years.

Otherwise, ND.

I guess I figure that if coaches can schedule games based on where players are from, why not for random out of town fans like me? Worth a shot, I'm hoping. Or, at least no harm in asking.
