Da Crusher
« on: January 11, 2018, 05:25:50 PM »
I don't know if there are any very old school wrestling fans on here, but just in case I thought I would share this project I am working on to honor the memory of "The Man That Made Milwaukee Famous."  I am heading a drive to raise funds to create an install a life size bronze statue of Reggie "Da Crusher" Lisowski in South Milwaukee.  Links are below.  Thanks.

If it were Baron von Raschke, I'd be in.  Though more appropriate for Creighton fans.

Put together a battle royal of BigEast cities most famous rasslers?

The Crusher teamed with Dick "The Bruiser" to form one of wrestling's all time tag teams.

If I recall correctly All-Star Wrestling was on Sunday morning or early afternoon. I can still hear the voice of the announcer listing names like Nick Bockwinkle, Bobby (the brain) Heenan, and of course Jesse (the body) Ventura.

Used to be on Sat at 5PM and then run again Sunday at 11 AM on Channel 18.

Was always fun to see new post-match interviews from the Auditorium on Sunday if there was a card the previous evening.

I used to watch it Sunday at 11 every week.  Attended several matches in person downtown as a youth.  Vern Gagne had one helluva professional operation up in the Twin Cities.

Gagne was actually a "real wrestler". Two time NCAA champ at Minnesota and an Olympic alternate.

Verne was a legit tough guy.

Came out on top in a locker room fight vs Dick the Bruiser.
