1.) Rowsey
2.) Sam
3.) Theo
4.) Elliott
5.) Heldt

2-5 could be a virtual tie, but Rowsey a solid SOTG for the points and when he produced them.

I'll make the bold choice and say Elliott. We didn't win this game because of our offense, it was because our defense stepped up in a big way and Greg was at the center of that. Carrington 2/8, Rodriguez 5/15 (and 2 of those were breakaway dunks), Powell 3/7. And I hate to say it, but Elliott's 5 rebounds were not easy rebounds. Elliott got the hard rebounds and almost all of them seemed to turn into points.

Heldt has a case as well. Held Delgado to 5/12 and only 1 offensive board (which happened while he was on the bench). Dunk that missed bunny and maybe he edges Greg.

Of course Rowsey is more than deserving as well but despite the 31 points, I put him narrowly in third behind Greg and Matt.

Honorable mentions for Rocky Top for his solid all around game and Theo for his toughness.

Greg Elliot. He was a force to be reckoned with at all times. I love his attitude and he is my favorite player on the team .

Honorable Mention
Rowsey

I absolutely loved what Elliott brought tonight, but Rowsey set the tone from the opening whistle and seemed to hit big shot after big shot. I gotta go AR.

me for calling it

Out of all the big east ranked teams, I think Seton Hall is the most likely to be won.

More surprised you haven't freaked out yet over someone not saying Rowsey for SOTG.

It'll end up going to Rowsey but I'd say Elliot.  The guy just does it all.  Hits that corner 3 consistently (the biggest area I thought we'd miss Cheatham, but Greg is now 4/5 in Big East play), plays great lock-down D for a frosh, grabs huge rebounds all throughout the game, and brings an energy to the team that few others do.  His knack for not only SKYING for rebounds, but immediately looking to the 3-point line for one of the Big 3 for a dagger 3 is phenomenal.  Turned the tide of the VCU/LSU game on one to Markus and tonight his putback dunk, offensive board kickout to Markus, saved ball kickout to Sam sequence sealed the game.

You can clearly see why Izzo wanted this guy, and we're damn lucky to have him in blue and gold.  Love this team.

You know it?s a great team win when Sam is overlooked in a lot of honorable mentions after having 14/8/1/1/1 & no turnovers.  He?s so consistently good every game.  Rowsey for SOTG but honorable mention to Greg, Sam, Matt, Theo, & M2N is about right.

Agree Rowsey probably should be SOTG for the early scoring in each half when we otherwise could not get it going.

Also agree that Sam second for me.  While Theo/Heldt are getting a lot of well-deserved praise for the interior defense, if you watched closely Sam did as much contesting on the interior as anybody and finished possessions with rebounds.  I wish he'd get a little more aggressive on offense, but he rarely seems to make a dumb play.

Rowsey
he single handedly jump started the game when others were feeling things out.
it could have gotten pretty ugly right off the bat, but he scored when others couldn't.

the overall performance was a strong from him as I've seen-
scoring, few fouls, ball protection, rebounding, assists, perfect from the line, 4-8 from 3's, 10 of 18 overall with most minutes played on the team (34).

while it certainly was a team effort (best of the year) and many had super strong outings, Rowsey's was the difference from start to finish.

no brainer.

It is Rowsey. The people of Scoop are saying GE because we want some different names on the board but the fact of the matter is... at the end of the year it will still be those 3. If we want to win any game, one of the three will have to have a SOTG worthy appearance.

It is easy to take Sam for granted.

So damn steady.

I thought he had a bad shooting game because he missed a few wide-open 3s ... and then I look at the box score to see 5-for-11 (which isn't bad) and 4-for-9 (which is good). Obviously, also see the 8 rebs in a game in which we outboarded a very good rebounding team, and the zero TOs in a game in which we only had 6.

A very valuable, versatile player.

He is one of my favorite Warriors of the post-Wade era. Can't wait to see what the "even better Hauser" does for us!

The same reason we don't let teams tie. This is America. Either you win or you don't.
