Hey, I'm not down on Wojo - just pointing out that Self has earned the right to have a few clunkers overlooked by his team's fan base. Wojo hasn't, though I hope he gets there.

When Self starts scheduling Wichita St we can start touting his Phog record.  He has the upper hand, he knows it, and he schedules matchups to his advantage.  It's smart on his part. 

However, one could easily argue that Roy Williams earned the right for Bill Self to have a few clunkers.  Self earned the KU job but he basically got to third on an error and you're calling it a triple.

If Wojo walked into a similar situation it would be a fair comparison.

Seriously? For every Wichita St there's an Omaha. And every year Self plays Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Iowa St., Kansas St., Baylor, W Virginia, etc., at home. That 202-10 isn't all against cupcakes - the guy's won the conference championship what 12 or 13 years in a row?

My point is that it's the program more so than Self that launched him to that record.  Without the KU/Williams jump start, and by avoiding the tough matchups like WSU, he wouldn't be in the same continent as the 202-10 record.
