There were some threads on the Rivals board about Scott Merritt being in the Bulls camp.  He was cut a while back but it looks like the Bulls decided to go with a 5' 10" guard (Andre Barrett) over a 7' 1" center (Luke Schenscher).

Anyway, the Bulls are a contending team and they're running with a slew of under-sized guards... Hinrich (6'1"), Gordon (6'3"), Duhon (6'1"), Barrett (5'10").  BTW I don't believe for second that Gordon is 6'3" or Duhon is 6'1".  I've meet both and I'm generously listing myself at 5'10" and Ben was an inch or so taller and Chris was about a half inch taller.

So anyway, my point is that if a contending team can run with such an undersized backcourt, then perhaps we are underestimating DJ's NBA chances.  If he can develop his jumper and avoid the cramping injuries, he could be in the 12-20 range in next years draft.  IMHO, I think he should wait a year and go for the lottery.  It's a nice option to have...

If you want to know how James can do in the NBA, watch Jameer Nelson.  He is the most similar player to James in terms of style, body-type, and athletisism.  He isn't a star yet, but this will be a break-out year for him.

Also worth comparing them in terms of predicting James' draft position.  Nelson was the college POY but went 20th overall.  NBA GMs are hesitant to take 5'10 players, even though they often look stupid later on for having passed over them.
