True

He's on the ticket for that game. MU made it easy for us season ticket holders.

So how good is he?  Will he be our best big man?  More importantly can he score?

As long as we have a decent post scoring option I think itll make it easier on everyone else. Its crazy how hard the team fights to get a 3

Harry isn't a post scorer. He's a face the basket big. Will be shooting threes in the corner. Will draw the bigs away from the paint and should help Anim and Elliott get to the hole

Better than Fischer?

Bilas has said on multiple occasions that Froling will be our best big man and will make us a much more dangerous team.

That doesn't mean all of that's true, but I do know that a lot of folks here (including me) respect Bilas.

To be fair, our other big men are Matt Heldt & a freshman.   Not exactly Chones, McNeill & Lucas.

I think the corner three is one of Hauser's best spots. If Froling is out on the perimeter, might the 3-pt line become crowded, especially as we don't have a real strong drive and dish guard?

Luckily, there are 2 corners on each end of the court.

Agree. So now we'll have Rowsey and Howard ready to fire from deep, with Hauser lurking in one corner and Froling in the other with Sacar roaming. Hopefully Froling can post up and get the ball down low or we'll just continue to be too one dimensional.

PistolBrad

According to Froling in his interview with 247 he is a better back to the basket player than Ellenson.  Take it with a grain of salt but he definitely thinks he can play with his back to the basket.

skianth16

Seeing Sam play a little post-up offense earlier this year makes me think that the coaching staff may be trying to encourage the bigger guys to broaden their offensive skill set. If they had Sam working on that, you can believe they had Froling doing the same. I'd rather see Froling spending more time in the paint and hope that frees up our 3 shooters a little more.

jsglow

Harry might actually play 2 positions.  Away from the basket in an Ellenson type role with Matty or Theo in the game and in a back to the basket inside game when Hauser is at the #4.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Sigh
Those three could of played on the same team. Then I believe the year after that Ellis would of replaced Chones.

While three point shooting is what Rowsey and Howard are known for they can also drive to the hoop. Froling drawing the opposing big man away from the hoop will help not only Sacar but also Rowsey and Howard. Hauser also has been successful in the mid-range and post up opportunities. Adding a big who is also a shooter will help the offense be more well rounded.

Seems to me that Howard can take it into the lane with nice results, especially that tear drop.  I've got no statistical data to back me up, but it seems when Rowsey drives against good teams, bad things generally happen.

Agree with over-arching point that another threat with size should make life/offense easier for our three big guns.  (Incidentally, should we be able to combine Rowsey, Howard and Hauser into one group nickname.  Rowser?  Howsey?)
