Beating ND in 89 just before finals week.  This marked a turning point for  MU basketball out of some bad times.

Several come to mind

Defeating Kentucky in NCAA Tournament
Beating Xavier for program's 1000th win
In Kansas City beating Duke
First game at Bradley Center
Final Four losing to Kansas (night before in New Orleans was amazing, night after the ass kicking with MU fans on Bourbon street was great comraderie)

This has all been a good reminder to recommend travel to the NCAA games.  Some of my very best times have been the times shared with the MU faithful during those weekends.  Friendships are often formed.  Let me tell a quick story.

Some years ago I got to know retired attorney Mr. D and his lovely wife either in Louisville or Lexington, I forget which.  We enjoyed each other's company and certainly tipped a few that weekend.  Later, we ended up sitting adjacent to them in our prized upper deck centerline seats, but ended up directly across from them the following year when we switched back to Sec. 400 so contact was less frequent.  We did know that Mrs. D had become ill and were heartbroken to hear about a year ago that she had passed sometime earlier.

Fast forward to yesterday.  BMO Bradley totally screwed up and forgot to get ticket takers to allow the Courtside Club members in 90 minutes prior to tip.  Complete fiasco.  Marquette's high rollers (many of whom are elderly) standing out in the misty cold outside the door.  I can assure you that Joe True personally cut someone a new arsehole in the aftermath of that.  Anyway, we ran into our good friend Mr. D while waiting and got introduced to what I thought might be his guest for the day at the game.  Nope, meet my fiancee!  A few quick stories with Mr. D as the brunt of the joke and she says 'I'm really going to like chick and glow.'  Honestly, it was easily the best part of the day.

I'm late to this party, but wanted to share a couple

2) Glow Stick game vs Georgetown. Per usual, had spent 7+ hours waiting in line for the front row seats. Where the Streets Have No Name comes on and all of the glow sticks the athletic department had give students started raining from the second deck. Pretty surreal, I think I have video of it somewhere. Needless to say, we haven't seen glowsticks since.

1) Road trip to Louisville with a couple buddies -- we had just lost D-James for the season and we almost cancelled the trip n anticipation of getting trounced. Fast forward to Louisville and one buddy had hooked Mac up with a student discount for Microsoft Office (apparently Mac didn't want to pay full price), so when Mac found out we were he offered to take us to breakfast before the Sunday game. We rolled in to breakfast with Mac and some of the radio crew after drinking (heavily) until 3 or 4 am. I'm sure we reeked of booze. In the end, I think Mac was really just looking for a ride to the stadium -- we ended up giving him a ride in exchange for his media parking pass. Great times, and a great guy.

At the Kohl Center, sitting with my bil, who was prez of the Becky Alumni Assoc at the time. We were sitting smack dab in the middle of red sweater vest central.  Wearing the only blue and gold for miles, I had infiltrated deep into enemy territory.  The game started well when Jae snubbed the Badger players during player introductions. Priceless.  We went on to triumph that day.  A day that ended with the spoils of victory....a bottle of crown won from my bil.

At Jimmy Waldvogle's hotel, hanging out with Hank after the Kentucky game. Also got Wade's autograph that night.  Who would have known I was hanging out with a ton of scoopers that night.

Ok. While it  may not be among the top all time great moments in MU history, for me the the game at the Garden with St. Johns in 2013 was pretty special. It was senior day for the Johnnies and there was a pretty good crowd in the Garden composed of their old Long Island faithful and probably a good couple thousand MU fans. The Garden closed off the upper deck so there were 2-13,000 people packed into the lower bowl. So it was a great college environment.

The Johnnies were still pretty good with Steve Lavin so the game was back and forth, and the they  rallied to tie it and it went to overtime. At the end of the overtime with the score tied we had the ball and the entire arena knew Vander was going to get the ball. They threw every body they could at him, he made an incredible drive to the hole and made it just as the buzzer went off. MU won a share of the Big East Championship which I thought was pretty great considering who was in the league then. It was a true Garden moment one I will relish for a long time.

I was at the game too, in the Upper Deck...

I'll add the '02 game at DePaul.  Wade's breakout game with the alley oops reverse dunk from Cordell.

Probably thrashing Miami en route to the Elite 8 in 12-13.  Though the comeback against Davidson is up there too.
