Covering all bases like the fucktard that he is.  Next hes gonna say he rubbed his first one out watching Kentucky in 1978.

I think he has been pretty consistent in his commentary on this issue. MSU is his dream job.

I can see what he is saying as being true. He would of been about the right age that a young kid would start seriously watching basketball.
He would of been 9 when UCLA won in 1975 and by that time UCLA winning the title was boring.
Crean certainly could of been watching the final four to see if Indiana was going to go undefeated.
Certainly Al going out on top would have intrigued anyone, who was not a North Carolina fan.
Magic Johnson was a special player to watch and you had the Larry Bird matchup that was very hyped.
I think most fans who are old enough can remember these teams.
Who won in 1978? My guess is Kentucky. I bet the average fan does not remember that team.

If MU won that many NCs, I doubt that any of us would call that boring.

Herein lies the problem that apparently some cannot see thru.  His commentary originally was that he fell in love with basketball and his first memories and favorite team was the 1977 Warriors some might call BS but it very well may have been true all good.
The problem was then 9 years later after a move 5 hours south, the story stayed the same but he replaced the warriors with the Hoosier and 1977, with 1976.
Now apparently its really 1979.  I guess its all fine.  However that coupled the who he is is just the BS that is Tom Crean.  BTW, wade wasnt in the Top 500 when he signed with MU.

The guy's a total phony/bullshyter. On top of that he's an empty vessel - no charm, personality or style. If Dwyane would have scored 17 on his ACT he wouldn't have lasted as long as Mike Deane at MU.

All of that analysis above may have elements of truth, however Coach Crean made the most of the hand he was dealt. The program was better off because of his efforts. He is the number two all time coach at MU in my book.

There's another person like that in the spotlight now and it's interesting that some in this forum hate Crean for it but don't mind seeing it in the other person.
