Anyone visiting Seattle should check out the winery tasting rooms in Woodinville. Washington state wines are world class. Viticulture is on the eastern side of the Cascades but the wineries have established tasting rooms in Woodinville. All of these tasting rooms are within crawling distance of each other (save for FST which is less than a mile away.)

Start with the Columbia Winery and end with the Chateau Ste Michelle.

In between I would highly recommend:

Januik   http://www.noveltyhilljanuik.com/

Mark Ryan    http://www.markryanwinery.com/

Isenhower   http://www.isenhowercellars.com/

DeLille    http://www.delillecellars.com/

Col Solare    World class cab    https://www.colsolare.com/

Efeste    Big bold reds    https://efeste.com/

Goose Ridge  http://www.gooseridge.com/

Next door to Columbia is the Red Hook Brewery. Stop in for a pint of their ESB.

Though I've been accused of being a whiner while watching MU hoops, I'm not a wine guy. So I like the brewery idea.

Any other Seattlites interested?

Just got home from our Seattle-Chicago trip, visiting both of my kids (daughter in Seattle, son in Chicago).

Had a great time in Seattle. Went to Whidbey Island, did the Boeing tour, went hiking to the ice caves, quaffed at several breweries, had some good food, etc.

Another highlight: Crash (keefe) joined me, my wife, my daughter and my son-in-law for a couple of beers at a brewery. As always, I enjoyed spending some time getting to know a fellow Scooper!

Any recommendations for good Que in Charlotte?

Charlotte is surprisingly weak for BBQ but there are a few decent places.

My favorite has been Midwood Smokehouse, the one on Central Ave.

I went to its second location in Ballantyne after it opened last year and didn't think it was as good.

I am a bit of a BBQ snob, though. Also, definitely a pizza snob - and there is precious little good 'za here! It ain't Chicago, my friends!

Try the Mariners if you're into baseball and they're in town. Team is mediocre but I love the stadium and the fans are good baseball fans.

The things that still stand out to me from my trip in 2017--

Seattle 101 tour from http://www.seattlefreewalkingtours.org/. Great way to get an overview of the city and its history.
San Juan islands were stunningly beautiful. We did a day trip (drove to Anacortes and ferried over), but I'd stay overnight if I did it again.
Not sure how exciting Bainbridge would be for a 12 and 15 year old, but the views on the ferry there and back are great.
Definitely hit Pike Place to at least check the box as Keefe said. We did it first thing in the morning before crowds hit, then took his suggestion of Le Pichet. I'm actually pretty sure we even followed his menu suggestion. Not sure if I ever thanked you for that, Keefe.

Pike Place Market is worth seeing to check the box. If you go there the best eatery is a little place called Le Pichet.

They make their own charcuterie which is sublime. Get a sampler, a couple of their baguettes and their eggs with ham and gruyere.

Finally, Tacos Chukis recommendation from Cooby Snacks. I still dream of their nopales.
