First, Lacrosse is the second biggest sport in Canada and is actually the national sport. You have to go down the list a bit more to hit basketball.

Second, why exactly does not having an "inner city" help high schools have quality programs that teach fundamentals?

Finally, concerning the programs you mentioned. UK's Mulder is from Windsor which is not Toronto you'd have more luck passing Windsor off as Detroit than Toronto, nobody is listed as from Toronto on Arizona or North Carolina or Virginia or Duke's 2016-2017 roster.

Canada as a whole is starting to develop some great players and I agree Cadougan was "the tip of the iceberg" but saying it's a better spot than one of the 3 or 4 most fertile recruiting areas in the United States is completely false.

This is a pretty stupid statement.  There are plenty of parts of Toronto that are "inner city" in every sense that an American city has an inner city.

Second, plenty of inner city kids have basketball fundamentals - in both the US and Canada.

Again another Toronto kid......We need to start spending time in that market......A lot of kids going to high major programs out of that city......Could be bigger in size than Chicago......A real quiet sleeper......

how do you figure it's "a sleeper" and how do you know MU needs to spend more time there?  i would think the coaches whose careers depend on their ability to bring in top recruits are well aware of toronto and spend time their accordingly.

Because only the Big boys are putting the time into getting those kids.....We should be doing more......

We are getting very good recruits......

But if you want Top 20 to 50 kids you better be in on NY....Chicago and Toronto.....A next step.....

But AAU is the biggest negative in the high school world......So much wrong with that "system".....

I hope not because that is a horrible reason to change the starting line-up.

Duane was our best on ball defender and an emotional leader.  IMO he deserved to start and get significant time.  I actually think there was a decent argument to give him a little more mins down the stretch.

I liked duane for every obvious reason and liked that he was starting, however he shot the ball horribly.  He was good for at least two dipsy do layup attempts that he missed every game and a air balled pull up in the paint or two also.  Dribbled into traffic with a loose handle far too often , as well. 
Great kid loved every not on the court thingabout him n felt he should start.  However, 10-15 mins max pergame unless his shot was falling.

Have been closely following Duane and the Aggies all year long. He is playing with a lot of confidence and has earned a lot of respect from the coaches and his teammates.  I think his senior leadership is a key element to the teams success.

Agree, congrats to Duane.  We could have really used him this season, but I think he found a better basketball fit for himself this season.

I hated seeing him leave my favorite team but glad it was for my second favorite team. His legs look healthier than they ever did at MU. Got a lot more bounce to him

I have so much love for Duane and what he gave to the program...cheering hard for him to succeed. A kid who really cared about putting on a Marquette jersey and represented us well...and loved his school. From going after Nigel on twitter...the way he played in the Nova game...his twitter post "for the culture" after beating Creighton to bring us back to the tourney. I will never forget him breaking down crying in his interview with Krause. Playing for Mu and bringing us back to the NCAA meant so much to him and it showed. Gratitude....

He also tweeted after our win over Wisconsin. Someone asked if he saw it and he said:

"Yessir. They held it down. Straight balling today."

Really glad we had him and feel he still represents Marquette well despite being elsewhere.
