They need to put the pressure on Arkansas. I expect they will rally and put theses guys away in the second half. Go Beast!!!

forgetful

Arkansas (like St. Johns/Louisville) is an example of officials changing how the game is called just so that the team doesn't foul out entirely.  They got called for about 6 fouls in the first 5 minutes.  They actually started reaching and fouling more the rest of the half, but the officials started to swallow their whistles otherwise the game would be over by forfeit when the entire team fouls out.  I hate that.

I've also become a vocal critic of calling offensive players for push off fouls when the defender is reaching.  I was always taught that your off arm is to defend the ball and if they reach in, break their damn arm/knock them on their ass so you draw the reach in foul.

When a ball handler, defends his space/ball now, they call an offensive foul.  There needs to be a clear distinction between a defender being granted his space/being in position (offensive foul) and a defender reaching in/bodying the ball handler (defensive foul)...in the latter the offensive player should be able to knock the defender on his ass if he wants and get to the FT line for it.

Its nice to see that man-child Delgado devastating somebody that's not us. He's gonna have a hell of a senior year.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Seton hall went on a huge run to get up 8.

Then just meltdown ever since
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I don't like SH at all so I'm cool with what's happening. But man have they had some chances to put this game away and just choke it up every time. Go up 8 and just start throwing the ball away and in like a minute you're tied. Have the ball inside a minute up 1 and turn it over leading to a run out. With the ball down 1 and Carington takes literally 6 steps without dribbling then whines about being called for a travel.

MUMountin

Started firing up jumpers instead of attacking the rim.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Wow. Flagrant on that? Refs just decided this game.

Officiating just dictated the outcome of the game.

Wow, Hall just got screwed. At least we got the bad SC refs out of the way.

ecompt

Hall got screwed on that last call, but it's hard to feel bad for them. They choked this game away.

Worst call I've seen in the tourney in a long time.

Night...Night

Ark misses one and one, then turnover.

Then stupid foul, leads to flagrant.  Ugh......

FT matter  13 for 21 for the Hall.  60%, just below their average (333rd in NCAA)

MUMountin

That's bad, although he did seem to add an extra little unnecessary push in.  But at full speed, tough to call that a flagrant

Yup.  Nice of the refs to seal that game for Arkansas.

Absolutely true. Never let yourself get into a position where 1 bad call decides the game. But dang, that was a bad call.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

DJO's Jaw

Eh, by the letter of the rule it probably was a flagrant. Shoved him in the back without making a play for the ball. Not really in the spirit of the rule, but seems like it's technically correct.

By the letter of the law, that call could be made on at least half of end game fouls.

rocky_warrior

Agreed, perfectly justified by the call.  But if you look at the fall, it was more caused by the incidental foot contact than the "push".  Oh well, SHU put themselves in a bad position.
