MILWAUKEE - Sophomore Dominic James was named to the Rivals.com Preseason All-America First Team, Monday, as voted on by college basketball writers and staff of Rivals.com.

James, the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year in 2005-06 and a unanimous choice for the Preseason All-BIG EAST team, is Marquette's leading returning scorer with 15.3 points per game a year ago. He led the team in assists in 2005-06 at 5.4 assists per game and he is the team's top returning rebounder at 4.5 per game. James was one of seven freshmen a season ago to average at least 11.0 points, 2.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.

The 5-foot-11 point guard is the lone BIG EAST student-athlete represented between the three teams.

The hypeometer is really pegged for DJ.  I keep thinking, he's really good, but top 5 player good?  Wow.

Wow... that's pretty darn impressive for a couple of sophmores to make the first team.  Congrats DJ!!

I don't think he is the type to read into press clippings but I hope he keeps a level-head and stays focused on the team over personal accolades.

Or maybe Rivals is trying to make nice with MU fans after how they treated Alum91?!   ;D
