Miller and Holtmann make a lot of sense.

Great point about Donovan having to leave behind an amazing contract at Okla City. Some guys who are already richer than rich do have other motivation. A lot would depend upon if Donovan sees trouble ahead where he is now and/or misses coaching in college. He probably already has $30-40 million in the bank, and Hoosierland would pay him, what, $4 million a year? He might think he could get by just fine on that. But I certainly don't know what his motivation is. If it's money, he won't leave the NBA ... and I wouldn't blame him.

Would any current school fire their current coach in order to hire Tom?  I would think schools like Boston College, DePaul, Pittsburgh, Clemson, among others, would seriously look at dismissing their current coach in order to get Crean. 

Personally, I think he sits out a year, spends time with family, watches Jim pulverize Indiana in football next year (and maniacally pace the sideline and adjust his belt), and look at getting a better job next year.

None of these schools would, in large part because most aren't schools that invest so much in hoops that they're going to pay off one coach's contract and then pay what it would cost to hire Crean.
And Pitt isn't firing Stallings after one season.

I've told this story before, but my friends were behind Crean in line at the Holocaust Museum in DC of all places, a few years ago.  After a few minutes, they introduced themselves as Marquette alum, explained they were there for the Final Four at Marquette, etc..  Crean couldn't have been more effusive of his praise of MU.  He kept asking questions about which games they had gone too.  He has a huge ego, but he probably misses his time at Marquette.  A lot...

Let's put this sh1t to rest.  Crean was/is a first class Ahole.  When he was at MU, he treated people like dirt.  I have this from friends who work in the AD and experienced it first hand.   

This hasn't been talked about much, but when he was at MU, he hired his father in law.  Old man didn't do anything, but had a rep for being a foul mouthed person....at work.  Didn't do Sh1t.

Although he was fired today, he didn't get what he deserved.

The loss against Stanford in the NCAA's should have shown the world that Crean was a terrible in-game coach (he lost to Stanford's assistant coach).  He was a good recruiter, planned very well for every game, and ran a clean program; all items in his favor.  In short, he is the perfect coach for a middling program.

I can't believe he lasted 9 years at IU.

I've met a few people who said he was a professional grade tool, but I didn't have any personal experience with Crean.
