Of course, we want to see MU vs. anyone in the Sweet 16, but what other match-ups intrigue?

Butler vs. North Carolina - Never count the dogs out in March.  UNC should know this by now, but I'm assuming they don't remember.  Should be a great game to watch.

Villadonuts  vs. Virginia - Something has to give when shorthand for your match-up is VA vs. NO VA.  If the game doesn't cancel itself out (double forfeit), maybe they'll discover cold fusion around halftime.

Xavier vs. St. Mary's - Cue the "Gonzaga + travel partner to Big East" music if X falls in that one.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

And VA - noVA is a re-match--very close win by noVA

I think Vandy takes down the Zags in the round of 32.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Butler vs Seton Hall....minimum 5 wins for the BE

Give me Big East vs. anyone, ideally a bunch of low-major Cinderellas ready to fall back to earth.

Doubt it, but I do have the Zags going down to ND. I just have no faith in the Zags until they prove otherwise.

Butler was just identified by Campus Insiders as one of the top potential "Cinderella" teams.  Maybe they think it's still 2010.  They may be a threat to win it all, but they are no longer a Cinderella.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Like last year when they were an 11 seed and steamrolled 2 high major opponents to get to the S16? Or the year before when they steamrolled a 15 seed and 2 high major opponents before giving eventual national champion Duke a battle in the elite 8?

I know the past stigma about Gonzaga. I get it. But the last 3 years they have played either to their seed or have exceeded it. It's not like they've been bowing out early/getting upset

Wisconsin vs Virginia
If you want to see that, that means the rodents would have beat VT and nova

I think its very possible. Wisconsin has as good of NCAA Tourney experience as anyone. If Happ gets going it could be trouble for Villanova. Would love to see two coaches who grew up and went to college in WI go against each other.

Tony Bennett went to Minnesota Duluth

Villanova v Virginia: A couple great games the past two years, both very good teams and legit Final Four threats.

UNC v Butler: The Bulldogs play such good, fundamental basketball and don't beat themselves. I think they would give UNC a heck of a run.

Cincinnati v Dayton: It would screw so many brackets, it's a long-time rivalry, and would love to see UCLA, UK, and Wichita State left scratching their heads at how it happened.

Marquette v Providence: I know it won't likely happen, but I want another shot at them. They caught us at the right time after Villanova and survived our buzzer beater attempt, and we controlled them at the Dunk until it went screwy. I know you said no Marquette, but I really want them again, because I know we'd win.

Not sure what you're talking about, Tony Bennett played for his dad at UW-Green Bay.

My uncle played with Bennett at Minnesota Duluth. He must of transferred or something

Hate to discredit your uncle, but that's just not the case. He was a four-year starter for the Phoenix.

Maybe another guy named Tony Bennett, but not the Tony Bennett that coaches Virginia.

How will the spectators know that a basketball game is going on?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Followed by New Mexico State in the Sweet 16 and New Orleans in the Elite Eight (after they knocked off Buzz in the Round of 32, of course).

Wasn't very long ago a team we beat twice in OOC took down the #2 in our region in the first round then we Shi'ite the bed against the 7 that beat the #15.

Same year the #10 beat the #15 who beat #2 Duke.

That's why they call it madness.

Yup. I'll still take my chances with the 14 and the 16 to get to the Final Four ;)
