Maybe not, but FWIW St Mary's would be favored by Pomeroy. Landale is tough. I expect I'll pick Zona, but it's entirely possible St Mary's could get through. Put them in any other region and it's not even a talking point, so why do it?

Was watching the show with my Badger friends.  When the first 8/9 game was being announced, one of them joking blurted out "Wisconsin" and the next word out of Greg Gumbel's mouth was, in fact, "Wisconsin."  LOL!  Shocked silence, followed by them being pi$$ed off for the rest of the show.  Minnesota a 5 and Maryland a 6 made them even more upset.

I then called out "Marquette" when the 10 seed came up.  Sure enough!  Of course, I was actually pleased to be a 10 seed, avoid Dayton, and end the suspense early.  It sure is nice to here the old alma mater called on selection Sunday!

The two things that surprised me most: That a 7-seed was basically given a home game and that Vandy was a 9 seed.

I really like Rhode Island, so I was pissed when all the yakkers started picking them. Now I almost feel like I can't.

It will be awesome when Butler wins that region over UNC, Ky and UCLA!

I am a little puzzled about MN as a 5 and WI as an 8 - but at the same time am busy trying to plan a trip to MKE to watch them play.  WI is naturally upset about the seed, but more importantly they are upset about going up against a team whose coach knows the badger system well.  It will be interesting to see what VPI will do with them.

Everyone in the East region should be worried about Marquette and hoping they get bounced before they have to face them.  An uptempo, efficient offense is not the team you want to face in March.

Down the stretch Minnesota was 8-2 while Wisconsin was 4-6.

Now go look at RPI and SOS of those teams. 

That should tell you all you need to know about why they were seeded where they were.

I don't know...I'm kind of a fan of "if you've got several jobs to do, you ought to do the hardest one first."  So, I'd encourage Wojo and the boys to beat Duke first, and then tackle South Carolina.
